ABSTRACT:-

The project deals with the automation of process of liquid filling of tins in an industry. This system
gives a fast and efficient operation of task using Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). The Ladder
logic Program defines the kind of task to be performed by the PLC corresponding to the inputs. This
control program is fed to the controller using a programming device such as PC. Sensors are used to
sense the presence of the tin in a particular position. The signal from the sensor is given as input to
the controller. The controller gives the control signal to the actuators in the conveyor to move the tin
to the appropriate position and stop. Now the Tin is filled with liquid from the filling tank by
operating valve. This filling takes fixed time period. After filling, the tank valve is closed. The time
interval is programmed to define the time for which the tin is to be kept at a particular position on
the conveyor. After this conveyor starts and next tin is filled. The time intervals can be changed
according to requirements. The whole process can be done in a single cycle and can be stopped after
the process is completed. Thus, this system gives a faster and reliable control system to reduce the
manual control and increases the efficiency.

on/off its outputs.
The user enters a program, usually via software, that gives the desired results.

needs some type of automatic control has a need for a PLC.
