Simple Past Tense is used for:

Telling something that have already happened in the past and

we know when did it happen.
Its structure is:
Positive : Subject + Verb II + Object + Time
Negative : Subject + did not + Verb I + Object + Time
Interrogative : Did + Subject + Verb I + Object + Time

For Example :
Andy made his own fried rice last Monday.
He didn’t make his own fried rice last Monday.
Did he make his own fried rice last Monday?
Present Perfect Tense is used for:
Telling something that have already happened in the past but we
don’t know actually when did it happen.
The Structure of Present Perfect Tense is:
Positive : Subject + have / has + Verb III + Object
Negative : Subject + have / has + not + Verb III + Object
Interrogative : Have / Has + Subject + Verb III + Object
For Example:
Alice has driven her car to the beach.
We have not finished our English task yet.
Have you eaten your chocolate?
First, in the Past Tense we use Verb II (ex: did ,
took, drove,
etc.) But, in the Present Perfect Tense we use have /
has +
Verb III (ex: done, taken, driven, etc.)
Second, in the past tense, we must add the TIME (ex:
yesterday,
last week, etc.) But in the Present Perfect Tense we
don’t have
to add the TIME in the end of the sentences
Example for further explanations
~ Chunky did his homework last night.
(That is past tense, we know when did Chunky finish his homework.
“Last night” is the time and we use Verb II, “did” is past form of ‘do’.)

~ Chunky has done his homework.

(That is Present Perfect. So, we don’t know when did
Chunky finish his homework. Because there is no time. And in this
tense, we use had + Verb III like “has done”, ‘done’ is past participle
of ‘do’.)
