PROJECT SUCCESS CRITERIA
Project success is a measurement of timeliness, budget utilization, and the extent to
which the primary project needs were met.

Strong project management improves design and execution phase decisions. Clear
planning also enables identification of when the project is finished and budget
constraints have been achieved. Scope

The main concerns in a project are always cost, time and scope. Nobody wants their
output to be a poor quality product so we agree that quality sits in the middle and is non-
negotiable. Plans can change but the objectives will always remain the same and these
objectives have to be achieved in order for the project to be considered a success. QUALITY

COST
- Would be the best if it is within the given budget given by the client. Time Cost

TIME
- Construction to be finished within the time given to avoid any penalty or late deliver of

Architect: Metier 3
■ 20,000 square metres of usable floor area
■ 24/7 student access to resource and
support
facilities
■ State-of-the-art collaborative and individual
teaching spaces

Located at 198 Berkeley Street, the 12-storey Spot building is a purpose-built teaching and research centre
that services the staff and students of the Faculty of Business and Economics.

As a leader in environmental performance in Australian higher education, the University of Melbourne aims
to be carbon neutral by 2030 and develop their campuses for a sustainable future.

Featuring a suite of ‘green’ innovations, the Spot remains at the lead of sustainable architecture.
The Spot incorporates a range of low-emission temperature control and ventilation options. Layered into
functional zones, the double-glazed facade of the building maintains the temperature while optimising the
use of natural light. Overall, the sustainable design features result in a 46 per cent reduction in energy use
and 83 per cent less water compared with the average educational building.
