PRAYER IS ONE OF GOD’S MOST
MYSTERIOUS AND REMARKABLE GIFTS TO
US.
IT IS OUR LIFELINE TO HEAVEN , OUR LIFELINE
TO THE MOST HOLY RELATIONSHIPS, OUR
OPPORTUNITY TO DIRECTLY EXPRESS OUR
PRAISES AND DESIRES TO THE CREATOR OF
THE UNIVERSE.
2) SERVE
Deuteronomy 13:4 NLT

“Serve only the LORD your God and


fear him alone. Obey his
commands, listen to his voice, and
cling to him..”
1 Corinthians 7:32 NLT
“ I want you to be free from the concerns of
this life. An unmarried man can spend his time
doing the Lord’s work and thinking how to
please him.”
God has always had effective
servants who have been single:
> Righteous Abel had no family.
> Boaz married quite late in life (Ruth 4:13). >
Anna the prophetess lived 84 years unmarried
(Luke 2:37).
> Mary, Jesus Christ’s mother, was called
when still single (Matthew 1:18).
3) RESPECT
YOUR FELLOW

12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy
and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with
compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness
and patience.”
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts,
since as members of one body you were called
to peace. And be thankful.
Strive to be careful in your comments.
 Always seek to be positive toward other
people.
Keep confidences.

4) DON’T OVER-
ROMANTICIZE
MARRIAGE
Matthew 6:33 ESV
“ But seek first the kingdom of God and his
righteousness, and all these things will be
added to you.”
• A happy marriage is an intense delight, but
must be based on the right foundation.
When we are single is the time to build that
foundation. Put God first (Matthew 6:33).
That lays the foundation.
• Be careful that your desire to marry doesn’t
become an idol. Just do your part to prepare,
doing the Work of God.
5) BE CONTENT
Philippians 4:8,11
• 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is
true, whatever is noble, whatever is right,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely,
whatever is admirable—if anything is
excellent or praiseworthy—think about
such things.
11” I am not saying this because I am in
need, for I have learned to be content
whatever the circumstances.”
• Being single is a stepping stone, a series
of experiences, in the journey of life.
• God is developing in you holy, perfect,
righteous character. Make every day
count.
• Glean every experience you can. You will one
day change from single to married—perhaps
physically, but certainly spiritually.
