Robotics In Artificial Intelligence
Introduction
Robots and Artificial Intelligence
Robotics
 branch of engineering and science that includes mechanical
engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, and
others. Robotics deals with the design, construction, operation,
and use of robots, as well as computer systems for their control,
sensory feedback, and information processing.
 It is a virtual or mechanical artificial agent

Artificial Intelligence
 Artificial intelligence (AI, also machine intelligence, MI)
is intelligence displayed by machines, in contrast with
the natural intelligence (NI) displayed by humans and
other animals.
 AI robot or computer gathers facts about a situation
through sensors or human input.
 The basic idea of AI problem solving is very simple, the
computer can only solve problems it's programmed to
solve it doesn't have any generalized analytical ability.

Types of Robots
Mobile Robots
 Mobile robots have the capability to move around in their
environment and are not fixed to one physical location.
 Mobile robots are also found in industry, military and
security environment
Industrial robots
 Industrial robots usually consist of a jointed arm (multi-
linked manipulator) and end effector that is attached to a
fixed surface.
 One of the most common type of end effector is a gripper
assembly

Pick and Place
 Moves items from one point to another
 Does not need to follow a specific path between points
 Uses include loading and unloading machines, placing
components on circuit boards, and moving parts off
conveyor.
Walking robots
 Several robots have been made which can walk reliably on
two legs, however none have yet been made which are as
robust as a human.
Cont…
 There are three types of walking robots those are:
 Two leg walking robot
 Four leg walking robot
 Hybrid
 In order to make robots walk we use two algorisms those
are:
 ZMP Technique
 Dynamic Balancing or controlled falling

Military robots
 Military robot can be act as individual sloggers in the battel.
 One robot in particular, the EATR, has generated concerns
over its fuel source as it can continually refuel itself using
organic substances.
 Some experts and academics have questioned the use of
robots for military combat, especially when such robots are
given some degree of autonomous function.
Uses of robots
General purpose autonomous robots
Factory robots
 Car production
 On an automated production line, a vehicle chassis on a
conveyor is welded, glued, painted and finally assembled
at a sequence of robot stations.
 A typical factory contains hundreds of industrial robots
working on fully automated production lines, with one
robot for every ten human workers.
Cont…
 Electronics
 Such robots can place hundreds of thousands of
components per hour, far out-performing a human in
speed, accuracy, and reliability.
 Packaging
 Industrial robots are also used extensively for
palletizing and packaging of manufactured
 Research robots
cont…
 Automated guided vehicles (AGVs)
 Used for transporting something from one place to
another.
 Schools
 It used for elementary and high school students
 Healthcare
 It act as individual assist in the hospital or
 It act as pharmacists in the hospital
Future development
Future of Robotics
 What is robotics like in the future
 In what way the robotics develop in the future
Technological development
 As robots become more advanced, eventually there may be
a standard computer operating system designed mainly for
robots.
 New functions and abilities are develop.
Conclusion
 the sense of automation as an activity without direct
presence of human has been changing in the course of
development of human activity.
 Those motifs considerably influence recent state of art of
robotics as well as the trends of further development.
 decreasing the dispersal of quality, increasing the
affectivity, flexibility ,quick and effective functional
adjustment in relation to required change of product.
recommendation

 As a recommendation in the future robotics is the main

advantage at any work place
 We will try to develop the strong AI in the future to develop
the good ability robots rather than todays robot.
 In the future we want advice from our teachers to develop
robotics in artificial intelligence in our country.
