MOUNTAINS
• Italy is mostly mountainous with
ranges over 700 metre.
• Best known ranges are Alps, the
Dolomites, Appenines.
• Highest mountain in Italy is Monte
Bianco.
• Bianco means “White Mountain”
with an elevation of 4,808 meters.
• Monte Bianco is popular for
snowboarding, hiking,
mountaineering, and skiing.
LAKES
• There are 1500 lakes in Italy.
• Small Alpine Lakes are used
for hydroelectric schemes.
• The largest & most important
lake is Lake
Garda,Maggiore,Como,Iseo
& Lugano.
ISLANDS

• There are two largest islands in Mediterranean which is


Sicily and Sardinia.
