Designed as a bass command center, the Bassbone features 2 separate channels with
independent level controls & powerful EQ to let you perform with two basses on stage and
instantly select between them with a footswitch. With Bassbone in your rig, each bass is treated
separately - no more compromising!

Effects loop & power booster lets you introduce effects and gives you that extra kick when
needed.
Built-in Radial direct box that sends 'your sound' to the mixer the way you want it.
Separately buffered tuner out that lets you monitor and tune on the fly.

Bassbone - the ultimate command center for serious bass players.

Specifications in brief

Balanced XLR output

CH-1 CONTOUR: Shape-1

CH-1 CONTOUR Shape-2

Channel-2 three-band EQ

Boost level: Unity gain to +12dB

Switching: Heavy duty mechanical switches

Ground lift: Lifts ground at XLR output pin-1

The Bassbone allows switching instruments without having to re-adjust tone & volume at the amp.

Also included is a power-booster with variable gain and a switchable outboard effect loop which can be used
individually or together. For example: introduce a flanger with boost for soloing.

Balanced output sends the signal to a mixer with all your sound settings (level, EQ, effect loop), eliminating
the need to carry a bass amplifier to coffee house gigs. There's even a bass-friendly tuner out!

- 12 -
The Bassbone is extremely powerful, yet simple to
operate.
Two instrument inputs and two separate signal
channels with separate level and EQ sections for
each. Output can go to an amp, mixer or both. Effects
and boost can be brought in or out with the press of a
footswitch.
The Bassbone is not limited to bass either. It works
great with guitars, mandolins, dobros, banjos and
other acoustic and electric instruments.
When using only one instrument, connecting to input-1 will still allow the use of all of channel-2's
benefits and features with one press of the 'toggle' footswitch.
The Radial Bassbone comes equipped with a special 15-Volt power supply that provides
greater headroom than typical 9V supplies.
Built-in Radial direct box is equipped with a separate XLR male output to feed a mixer.
The XLR output of the Bassbone is post-everything. This means that all of the Bassbone EQ
and volume settings will be heard on the XLR output.

● AB-Y switcher – Class-A for exceptional audio
● Noiseless photocell switching between amplifiers
● Exclusive Drag™ control pickup load correction
● Built-in Power Boost circuit with mid control
● Transformer isolated to eliminate ground loops

The ultimate AB-Y guitar amp switcher!

Switchbone is a creative tool that is designed to allow your
guitar to drive and control two amplifiers without
introducing noise, distortion, clicks or pops. Most
importantly, the Switchbone will retain the natural sound
and feel of your instrument.

The Switchbone employs Class-A circuitry for exceptional audio performance. Our unique Drag™
control provides load correction to re-introduce the natural relationship between the amp and
guitar pickup that is invariably lost when the guitar is buffered or split to drive two amps. To
eliminate hum and buzz caused by ground loops, the Switchbone’s second output is transformer
equipped for 100% isolation. A 180º polarity reverse switch keeps both amps in phase.

Radial's acclaimed VariBoost™ power booster gives you complete foot-switchable control over
boost gain and mid boost for soloing. The innovative ‘ToggleMode™’ footswitch with large
flashing LED's simplifies switching and eliminates tap dancing. The tuner output is always on for
quick tune-ups and buffered to keep your signal path clean.

- 17 -
Specifications in brief:
Circuit type: Class-A primary audio circuit

Drag™ control Variable pickup loading emulator

Output-1: Direct coupled

Output-2: Transformer isolated

VariBoost™ level: Unity gain to +15dB

Mid-boost: +9 dB @ 800 Hz
+5 dB @ 1 kHz

Tuner output: Buffered - always-on

Switching: Opto-coupler assisted

LED indicators: Large 3mm OD ultra-bright LED's

Pedalboard users will truly appreciate the Switchbone’s
compact size, rugged construction and attention to detail,
like the recessing of the VariBoost™ gain and Drag™ Polarity reverse: 180º (phase) reverse at Output 2
controls to prevent accidental 'bumping'. There is a
'MUTE' switch setting that turns off the signal except to Construction: 14 gauge steel, baked enamel finish
the tuner output for fast, quiet tune-ups between songs.

Look inside the switchbone and you will be amazed at all the circuitry actually required to give the Switchbone it's functionality and
make it work as well as it does – Switchbone is truly an engineering marvel!

- 18 -
Setting up is easy – the two Switchbone amplifier outputs,
Out-1 and Out-2, connect directly to each amp 's instrument
inputs:
Out-1 is direct coupled and Out-2 is transformer isolated.
Use the isolated output if you have an old amp with no
ground lug on it's AC cord.
The Switchbone's ground lift switch can come in handy to
eliminate hum or buzz that may be present due to a ground
differential between the two amps.

Connecting the Switchbone's power adapter turns the unit on.

Plug in your guitar and you are ready to go. The LED indicators will show you the currently selected
output(s). The TOGGLE footswitch switches between them. The BOTH footswitch selects both
outputs, and the flashing LED shows which output will still be on when you hit the BOTH switch
again.
… Simple and effective.

LYLE WORKMAN (Beck, Todd Rundgren)

"The Switchbone is a must have for anyone needing a AB-Y pedal to

have on board... This pedal is a complete winner.“ ~ Lyle

The Radial Loopbone combines several innovative features into one rugged, compact unit
that easily fits on a pedalboard. Controls and switches have been optimized for maximum
flexibility and ease of use while eliminating unnecessary clutter on stage.

- 23 -
Radial's design philosophy acknowledges that for a
device to be useful, it should be easy to use – even if the
internal workings are complex. The Loopbone is a good
example of how this doctrine can be implemented by
reducing the number switches and clutter to an absolute
minimum.

Plug in your guitar, amp and effects and you are ready to go. The LED indicators will
show you the currently selected FX loop(s), and the Boost circuit status – on or off.

The front panel Drag™ control potentiometer adjusts to exactly match the pickup load
you would get if your guitar was plugged directly into your amp.
The VariBoost™ gain can be pre-adjusted to give you zero to +15dB of boost when you
step on the footswitch.
