Kanpur is blessed with a rich cultural heritage.

Eminent poets such as Bal Krishna sharma have
played a key role in promoting this culture. Fair and
festivals that are celebrated in the city , also offer a
glimpse of the culture of from all walks of life.
Devotees play Holi and take a holy bath in the
Ganga. Kanpur has played an important role in the
propagation of ‘Nautanki’, a theatre form. Cultural
events such as Ram Lila provide a platform to
budding artists. Classical Indian dance and music

Kanpur is inspired by Awadhi cuisine. Khoya laddu
and Biryani are some of the famous delicacies.
 History of Kanpur
• Kanpur is the 12th most populous city in India
and the second largest city in the state of
Uttar Pradesh after Lucknow.
• It is also the biggest city of the state and is the
main centre of commercial and industrial
activities.
• Formerly it was known as Manchester of
India.
• Now it is the commercial capital of UP.
 Cuisines
• Besides being a treat of exquisite culture and
art for tourist, kanpur mahotsav also povides
the ultimate destination to all indian food
lovers by offering comprehensive range of
Indian cuisines from different parts of the

smacking delicacies are offered at kanpur
mahotsav at reasonable rates
 Stall Information-
• Kanpur Mahotsav Exhibition would have 200 commercial stalls, 33
pavilion, 55 food stalls, 40 quask for ice creams and beverage stalls.
In the commercial stalls, major commercials organizations would
display their products for exhibitions and sale. Pavilion will have
participation from tourism, forest, water and income tax
department. For the entertainment purpose of children, swings and
fountains have been placed.
• The mega events are widely covered by electronics and print media
and will give nation wide publicity through different channels. It has
viewership of about 80 lakhs people it will provide the best
opportunity for publicity of prestigious organization like ours. I,
therefore , solicit your proposal for “Title-sponsorship” or “co-

• Note-: From the application forms for stalls- Regional tourism office can be
received from the tourist building phool bagh, Kanpur , on working days.
While depositing the application , the bank draft of the entire amount ,
which will be payable in favour of the Kanpur festival committee, is
attached with the application form and it is compulsory to submit it with
the latest photo and ID proof . The last date for submission of application
form is – till evening. After some time after the delay , after submission of
the form, after a certain percentage of the applications received from the
delay and the date after the date, the amount will be deposited with the
extra fare amount up to date / time. After receipt of application, the
allocation will be done on the basis of first coming first step. It is not
necessary to allocate stalls to each applicant, the applicants will not be
allotted the stall, their money will be refunded. In any case the decision of
chairman Kanpur festival will be final and valid.
 Services
• TRANSPORATION
For public convenience, 100 buses have been
arranged by the Uttar Pradesh state Road
Transport corporation (UPSRTC) . In addition,
auto / maxi cabs etc have been arranged as a
special transport and also have been specially
tagged for mahotsav purpose.
• FREE WI-FI
First time free Wi fi has been provided at Kanpur
Mahotsav . The internet access has been
provided free to the users for first few minutes.

• E-TICKETING
It is known for changing the face of KANPUR
MAHOTSAV ticketing in UP. It pioneered
internet- based Kanpur Mahotsav ticket booking
through its website, as well as from the mobile,
phones and tablets etc.

children as it involves big as well as small fun
rides like merry-go-rounds, train rides and
many more.
