CCTV stands for Close Circuit TV & also

called Security Surveillance Camera

ANALOG CCTV CAMERA

IP/COMPUTER BASE
CCTV CAMERA
 Analog CCTV works using co-axial cable.
 DVR (Digital Video Recorder) used to record
Analog CCTV Camera.
 Each cable must start at camera & terminate
at DVR.
 DVR to camera distance is maximum around
350-400 meter.
 Costing is Lower than IP Camera Setup.
 Camera Resolution measured in TV Lines
(TVL).
 IP Camera works using LAN cables.
 NVR (Network Video Recorder) used to record
IP CCTV Camera.
 It is not necessary to terminate each cable
one end at camera & another end at NVR.
 Costing is higher than Analog Camera.
 Camera Resolution measured in Megapixel.
 Dome Camera
 Bullet Camera
 Box Camera
 PTZ Camera
 Covert or Spy Camera
 Vandal Proof Camera
 Dome Security Cameras are named for their
dome like shape.
 This camera are becoming increasingly
popular due to their ability to blend in with
their surroundings.
 This CCTV commonly used in inside of
Homes, Casinos, Retail Store, & Restaurants.
 In Dome shape also IR (Infrared)cameras
available, which also work well in low light
and zero light applications.
 Bullet cameras are encased in cylindrical
usually weather resistant housing.
 Their size, cost & integrated design make
them a great choice for home and outside
installation.
 In Bullet shape also IR (Infrared)cameras
available, which also work well in low light
and zero light applications.
 In Box camera we can mount any Lens as per
our requirement.
 It can be used with or without a housing.
They are used with a housing and bracket
unit for outdoor areas such as parking lots &
entry gates.
 Some box camera also provides night vision
facility.
 PTZ stands for Pan-Tilt-Zoom.
 This camera is more expensive but offer the
operator more control with Remote
Pan/Tilt/Zoom.
 Where clarity is measure issue at that
location PTZ is advisable.
 Used both Indoor & Outdoor.
 These type of cameras are designed for discreet
installation.
 They are commonly referred to as nanny cam.
 They used frequently by private investigators.
 In this type there is also IR availabilty,PIR-IR60 is
a hidden infrared camera with invisible IR,
Unlike most infrared CCTV cameras, the IR LEDs
of this camera do not have red glow which
makes this camera undetectable to the human
eye. This is possible through the use of the
940nm IR LEDs.
A vandal proof camera is a security camera that’s designed to keep
working even if people try to break it.

There are three elements to vandal-proofing.

1. The camera should be difficult to open or re-adjust.

2.Making a camera resistance to vandalism is to build the camera with

materials that make it highly resistance to impact, such as swing from
hammer or a baseball bat.

3.Cable management refers to how cabling from the camera is run in a

way that protects it from the elements and vandalism (think wire
cutters).
A lens is an optical device which transmits & refracts light. When
choosing the proper CCTV camera lens, you must consider the
following:
 Varifocal and Fixed- They are the two basic types of lenses.
Varifocal lenses are adjustable Whereas fixed lenses are not.
Varifocal lenses are more expensive but are ideal in places
where the focal point may change or vary. Fixed lenses typically
come as 3.6mm or 4 mm an accommodate most scenarios.
 Focal Length- It is measured in mm.In general, the lower the
number, the wider the angle.
(2.5mm)= a wide angle of view.
(12mm)= a narrow angle of view.
 IP stands for Ingress Protection/International
Protection.
 Electrical equipment often has an IP rating. This tells
you how resistant it is to dust and fluid.
 The IP Rating is a simple encoding that covers a range
of international standards for enclosures and
electrical switchgear up to 1000V A.C. and 1200V
D.C.
 IP Rating Code
 In security equipment, the rating code commonly
consists of 2 numbers (e.g. IP56) that tell you the
amount of protection a given product has against
dust and fluid.
 Each digit represents the degree of protection against
one of the environmental factors.
 The first number is for solid particle ingress, and the
second is for liquids ingress.
 Thisrating, IEC standard 62 262, is used to
specify how mechanical impact protection
tests on enclosures (specifically CCTV
enclosure for our purposes) are conducted.
IK ratings fall into a numerical range from 00
to 10 and indicate the degree of protection
provided by enclosures against external
mechanical impacts. The different IK ratings
relate to the ability of an enclosure to resist
impact energy levels measured in joules
(J). The equipment being protected cannot
exceed a voltage rating of 72.5 kV in
accordance with IEC 62 262.
 IK00 Not protected
 IK01 Protected against 0.14 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 0.25 kg mass dropped from 56 mm above impacted surface.
 IK02 Protected against 0.2 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 0.25 kg mass dropped from 80 mm above impacted surface.
 IK03 Protected against 0.35 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 0.25 kg mass dropped from 140 mm above impacted surface.
 IK04 Protected against 0.5 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 0.25 kg mass dropped from 200 mm above impacted surface.
 IK05 Protected against 0.7 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 0.25 kg mass dropped from 280 mm above impacted surface.
 IK06 Protected against 1 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 0.25 kg mass dropped from 400 mm above impacted surface.
 IK07 Protected against 2 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 0.5 kg mass dropped from 400 mm above impacted surface.
 IK08 Protected against 5 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 1.7 kg mass dropped from 300 mm above impacted surface.
 IK09 Protected against 10 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 5 kg mass dropped from 200 mm above impacted surface.
 IK10 Protected against 20 joules impact.
Equivalent to impact of 5 kg mass dropped from 400 mm above impacted surface.
