THE AMERICAN DISABILITY ACT
(ADA):
 Prohibits discriminations against people with
disabilities.

 Prohibits discrimination in employment, public


accommodation and transportation.

 Applies to all employers with fifteen or more


employees.
THE AMERICAN DISABILITY ACT (ADA):

 Ensure equal access to programs and services.

 Provides “reasonable accommodation” to a physically


or mentally disabled.

TITLE II OF ADA:
 Applies to State and Local Government.

 Requires local government agencies to provide


programs and services accessible to people with
disability.

 Protects qualified individuals disabilities from


discriminations.

 Mobility Impairment.

 Intellectual Disability.

 HIV Infection.

 Computer programs and tablet applications that has
text and speech.

 Text to Speech software.

 Word prediction software

 Closed captioning devices, and pencil grips.

 Graphic organizers.

 Function calculator.
CAPTIONING ADDS ACCESSIBILITY
TO YOUTUBE:
 Own the video in YouTube.

 Enter to video Manager and then select edit.

 Click subtitles and CC tab to upload a video or caption

 Select the Add Subtitles or CC and choose your


language.

 Upload the file and publish.


“ALT” TAG:
 “Alt” is an add alternative text descriptions.

 Provides a textual alternative to visual information.

 Helps people with technological limitations or visual


impairment to know more about an image.

FLASHING:
 Moving or changing items on a page cause distractions
for most people.

 Animations can prevent people from concentrating.

 Blinking and flashing can cause a seizure for sensitive


people.

 Explains meaning of words with text and picture.
