For an activity that has recently stopped or just stopped, and there is a
connection with now.
Ex: We are out of vegetables. Hasn’t aunty been going shopping yet?
(Aunty is still not going shopping for the vegetables)
We often use the present perfect continuous in this way, especially with how long,
for…and since…. . the activity is still happening (as in this example) or has just
stopped.
Ex: How long have you been waiting there? (you are still waiting there)
You can use the present perfect continuous for actions repeated over a period of
time.
Ex: a. Marsha is a very good softballer. She’s been playing since she was eight.
b. Every afternoon they meet in the same mall. They’ve been gathering
there for years.

white. Now, it is blue.

Present Perfect Continuous/Progressive Tense
