Physical barrier is the environmental and natural condition that act

as a barrier in communication in sending message from sender to


receiver.

for communication . They may be interpreted wrongly in a
communication process

 DENOTATIONS : Literal meaning of a word


 CONNOTATIONS: Emotions and associations connected to
a word- Favorable, Unfavorable

Eg: They give us cheap things

Homophones
 Same pronunciation
 Different meaning and spelling.
For example: buy, by and bye.
Homonyms
 Same pronunciation
 Different Spelling and meaning .
For example: the noun "bear" and the verb "bear"
Homographs
 Same spelling
 Different pronunciation and meaning
 For example, "The research lead to the
discovery of lead.
 The difficulties in communication
experienced by people or groups speaking
different languages, or even dialects in some
cases.

 No clarity in Speech or Not being specific.

 Using Jargons- Special words or expressions that are


difficult for others to understand.

communicators (Sender and Receiver) which
creates an obstacle for effective
communication.
