INTRODUCTION

 Dan Lift Technology plc. is the first company in Ethiopia

to acquire ISO 9001: 2000 certificate in the design,
manufacturing, installation of Lifts and Escalators.
 Dan Lift Technology plc. is the sister company of Dan
Technocrat plc. which is established in 1976. Dan Lift
Technology plc. is a well-organized company with
modern management systems, engineering workshop &
with well-equipped laboratories.

3
CONT…

Dan Lift Technology Plc. intends to manufacture and

assemble the measure parts of the lift such as:
 Car , car frame and car frame accessories
 Door panels and door frames
 Landing door mechanisms
 Counter weight frame and filter
 Controller and controller box
 Brackets and motor seats
Elevator or lift is a vertical transportation system (vertical
vehicle) that efficiently moves people or goods between
floors of a building.

Main product of Company

 Lift (Elevator)
Car, car frame and car frame accessories
Door panels and door frames
Landing door mechanisms

5
CONTI…

 Elevator or lift is a vertical transportation system (vertical

vehicle) that efficiently moves people or goods between
floors of a building.
 They are generally powered by electric motors that either
drive traction cables and counter weight system or pump
hydraulic fluid to raise a cylindrical piston .
 Company giving two types lift service for customers
1 Traction elevators
2 Hydraulic elevator

6
CONTI…

1 Traction elevators
According to electric motor they are traction motors are
also classified in to two parts which are Geared and
gearless traction elevators.
 Geared traction elevators are driven by AC or DC electric
motors. Geared machines are use warm gears to control
mechanical movement of elevator cars by rolling steel
hoist ropes over a drive sheave which is attached to a
gearbox driven by a high speed motor.

7
CONTI…

 Gearless traction elevators use low speed, high torque

electric motors powered by either AC or DC supply.
 Gearless traction elevators can reach speeds up to 10
m/s or even higher.
2 Hydraulic elevator
 A hydraulic elevator system lifts a car using a hydraulic
ram, a fluid driven piston mounted inside a cylinder.
 The fluid is connected to a fluid pumping system
(typically, hydraulic system uses oil, but other
incompressible fluid would also work).

8
CONTI…

 The hydraulic system has three parts

 A tank (the fluid reservoir)
 A pump, powered by an electric motor
 A valve between the cylinder and the reservoir.
The pump forces fluid from the tank into a pipe leading to
the cylinder. When the valve is opened, the pressurized
fluid will take the path of least resistance and return to the
fluid reservoir, but when the valve is closed, it pushes the
piston up, lifting the elevator car.

9
Task one production
of Main Controller
Elevator controller is the main
brain of the elevator system
i.e. elevator controller must be
manufactured and installed
very carefully and with full
attention .The main objectives
of the elevator control system
are:
To bring the lift car to the
correct floor.
To minimize travel time.
To maximize passenger
comfort by providing a smooth
ride
To accelerate, decelerate
and travel within safe speed
limits

10
BG 15 Card

This card is the most important part of the controller which

analyse and performs all the input data and the output
commands. BG 15 card is microprocessor based controller
which helps to control
 Safety chains
 Lift movement and thermal
states using the motor drive
 Controls relays and contactors
 Controls the doors
 Controls landing calls and car calls
 Controls photo cell
 Controls position indicator

11
ATV 71 MOTOR DRIVE

 Motor drive is very important part of the elevator

controller. It is mostly known as an INVERTER, which is
also called VVF [variable voltage frequency] because
voltage is inversely proportion to frequency i.e. it controls
the speed by changing voltage and frequency at the
same time.

12
Lift emergency controller

Task two emergence board

 Emergency evacuation device is used to move the lift in
case of main power failure there is separate panel mode
for this purpose and fitted in the main control panel
cabinet.
 The panels have three main contactors, namely KA1,
KA2 and K1, KA1 and KA2 work in normal mode (when
main power is on) and k1 works when main power is
gone.

13
Task three lift installation and motor
tuning
Lift safety device installation
 During my internship program I have doing lift safety device
installation, shaft wire and traveling cable distribution.
Speed governor
Top and Bottom limit switch
Car oil buffer
Pit stop
Inspection stop
Car door contact
Landing door contact

14
Motor tuning

When I was In Dan lift technology, I actively participated in

motor tuning.
 Tuning is the process of introducing motors with drive system
or parameters configuration on name plate of motors with
drive like pole, frequency, speed, voltage and current.
 There are two main types of motor that they use in their lift
installation. These are geared and gearless motors. But now
days they are focusing more on gearless due to its
technological advancement and other advantages

project

Title:- Software based horizontal body slider

Abstract
 This project is software based horizontal load sliding
machine it used to move load from one place to another place
horizontally which aimed to change the human labor system
of the machine process to software automated system.
 This system is developed by using C# for windows application
software and Proteus for hardware’s.

18
Cont…
General Objective
 The main objective of this project is moving load from one
space to another space using computer software.
Specific Objective
 To reduce time conception during moving one object from one
space to another space.
 To avoid human labor during moving one object from one
space to another space.
Statement of the problem
 For many years the system is manually operate to move load
from one place to another.

19
Methodology of the project

Methodology for data collection

 Primary data collection: - We use primary data collection
methods have been implemented for the identification of the
problem and understanding the existing system. Some of the
methods we use: -
 Interview: - It is a method of collecting data involves
presentation of oral-verbal stimuli and reply in terms of oral-
verbal responses.
 Observation: - this method is also used to collect data, done
by direct seeing the Working environment.

20
System design

This system has two interfaces. these are desktop application

software and hardware simulation
 Desktop application software: -this is a computer software it
used to send a command from computer to hardware
microcontroller. This software is build using C# because this
software is easy to develop desktop application.

21
Cont.…

Soft ware design: - this parts is used to do over all activity of the
project this circuit move and stop the motor based on computer
command.
Used components
 Arduino mega Microcontroller
 7 button (as limit switch)
 Compim(Serial Connector)
 Motor Drive
 2 5v Relay
 Three phase motor
 Led

22
Problems Encountered During the Internship
Period
 Dan lift technology has the following basic problems
 Computer access
 Service like transportation, safety
 The documentation of the company was not arranged
properly
 The webpage of the company was not arranged properly

23
Conclusion

There was a gap between the things which we know in the

class with the outside environment and this gap is now
narrowed.
I can generally conclude that this internship program
helped me to improve and develop my:
 Practical and theoretical knowledge in production,
installation and maintenance of lift
 Interpersonal communication skills
 Team playing ability skills
 Leadership ability skills
 Work ethics related issues, etc.

24
Recommendation

 I strongly suggest that the company must fulfill all the

necessary thing like:
 Computer access
 Transportation
 Safety
 Webpage arrangement
 Documentation arrangement
