Definition

What is meant by Past Continuous Tense?


Past continuous tense is a phrase that states events are
happening in the past

On the use of Past Continuous Tense verb used must end


with-ing / (Verb + ing).
Past Continuous Tense form of time using this type of "TO
BE" (was / were)

Was to subject : I, she, he, it.


Were on the subject : you, they, we.

other events occurred in the past

For example :
 I was cooking when the phone rang
 When the phone rang , I was cooking
 They were chattering when I came
3. Declare two activities / more is going on
simultaneously in the past
