Unusual occurrence
Cavity inside the track: On 24.04.18 at 20.50 hrs, a local person informed to GK of LC No:20, land slip
near down line at KM 27/700 between MNTT-PVRD on ERS-KTYM section and same was informed to
SM/PVRD &SSE/Pway/PVRD by GK. SSE/Pway reached the spot and noticed a deep pit of about 1.5m
depth and 1.0m diameter inside the Down line track and informed SM/PVRD not to allow any Train in to
the section. The cavity below sleeper portion was filled by ballast and giving Kutcha packing. At
22.10hrs, TNo:56839 passed with caution order “STOP and proceed with walking speed” duly piloting by
Engg staff. At 22.45hrs, ADEN/ERS completing temporary restoration and certified Track fit with SR
10KMPH at 23.45hrs.
Work taken without line block @DG Yard: On 24.04.18, work was undertaken on road 5 at DG yard
without line block. After the buckling of the track, block was taken from 11.45 hrs to 14.00 hrs. and the
same is cancelled at 16.40 hrs. On the same day, line block was permitted on road 4 at DG yard from 09.45
to 12.00 hrs for a welding work and cancelled at 11.30 hrs.
Road vehicle Lorry fallen near the Track: On 25.04.18 at 06.15 hrs, a loaded goods lorry bearing
Registration No: KL 10 5085 fallen down from state High way road in to the side of shunting neck at KM
59/000-100 on LH side of KTYM station. SM/KTYM stopped the Train No:16303 Exp to ensure safety.
Power block availed and cleared the lorry at 11.20hrs.Local police registered a case crime No:766/18 under
section 229 of IPC.

Deficiencies noticed by Officers
1. On 10/11.04.18, LC No.3 at Km.10/000-100 between SA-MALR, while entering from SA end, the road was
in raised condition and dropping towards the LC. Additional speed breaker may be provided. (SA)
2. On 12.04.18,
2.1 LC No.185 between CLT-WH, the LC has four approach roads. Road signage is provided only for two
roads. And also road warning light is not visible to the road user of the road parallel to track.
2.2 At WH station, road 1 has a goods unloading platform. Lorries have entry from two places to the platform.
Passenger/Exp. Trains are also run through as it is passenger fit. Barrier is to be provided to prevent entry of
lorries while dealing with trains on the road. (PGT)
3. On 21/22.02.18, 15 signals in TVC Division identified by the Signal Sighting Committee where the visibility
of signals is less than the prescribed minimum. This signal should either be relocated or provided with a
repeater. (TVC)
4. While foot-plating by Tower Wagon between ED & CBE on 13.04.18, following were noticed. (SA)
4.1 Unmanned LC gate close to Starter 77 A is neither mentioned in SIP nor in WTT.
4.2 Continuity traction bond are not provided on the fishplate in the section.
4.3 At LC 6 at Km.6/500-600, road surface is bad. In fact, one car got stuck and required pushing to clear up
track.
