What is integrated hot spring resorts?
Hot spring: Hot springs are defined as

the surface appearance of
underground water, whose
temperature is 25 degrees Celsius or
higher and the ingredients are
harmless (The Law of Hot Spring in
Korea, 1980).

and Integrated Resorts. Town Resorts
derive from the original function of
a town community, with an added
tourism nature, but Integrated
Resorts are a collection of various
functions and service facilities
which are based on the purpose of

Hot spring resorts: Scholars have not often made an explicit definition of
hot spring resorts, although Erfurt-Cooper & Cooper (2009) did so in 2009.
Most papers have paid attention to Town Resorts (like springs in Budapest,
Hungary) and Integrated Hot Spring Resorts (like The Spa in Baden,
Switzerland).
Some definitions of Chinese Scholars:
——hot spring resorts referred to the management of various types of

hot spring entities. (Zhu YD, 2007)
——hot spring resort is a complex of tourism, vacation, leisure,

entertainment, health care and other products, which attracts tourists
using the hot spring resource. (Huang XD, 2010)
——hot spring resorts like tourism service unit, which mainly

provides services for the vacation, leisure, conference, incentive travel
and similar markets. (Chen N, 2015)

——The background of Henan’s hot spring
resorts and its status quo
Integrated hot spring resorts in Henan Province
Although Henan Province is not in the group who has

premium Hot Spring resources, but it is famous for its history.
According to "Later Han History", "Old Tang History", "New Book of Tang History", “Jin
History" and other historical books, there was a town named Spring in LuoYang (Now in
RuZhou City) where ten emperors, three concubines had had bath sightseeing at the hot
springs.

Huadu Hot Spring Towns——Xuchang, Henan, PRC.
It is the only hot spring with flowers and

trees around in Henan. It is a integrated hot
spring resorts which consisted of hot spring,
restaurants, hospitality, conference center
and recreation center. Its characteristics
including outdoor sports park, European
style commercial street, flower sightseeing
garden, children's park, leisure garden for
the old.

Chayashan town of Hot Springs——Zhumadian, Henan, PRC.
It is consisted of five star hot spring resorts,

eco-tourism park, the new rural community,
National Park of Soil and Water Conservation ,
National Education and Practice Base for
Primary Students. Meanwhile, extreme sports
are held here, such as climbing and skiing.
Golf is also another special sports for
demanded people.


Royal Hot Spring Resorts——Pingdingshan, Henan, PRC.
Northern Wei geographer Li Daoyuan in the

"Waterways Note" records: "Luyang hot
springs, can cure million diseases“. It is
consisted of four star hot spring resorts, 28
kinds of hot springs, and premium recreations
and restaurant. Since built up, this resorts has
received more than 100 national, provincial
and ministerial level leaderships.
