students or a percentage of
3.53%. The school
formulates, implements, and
coordinates, policies, plans,
programs and projects in
areas of formal basic
education.
THE PROJECT
To give teachers the much needed
support by listening to their feedback
on what they really need to improve the
strategies in reading.
Analyze these three concerns using the
Strenght, Weaknesses, Opportunities,
and Threats ( SWOT ) analysis
framework of SIP ; and
Make an action on how to decrease
number of non – readers.
Allocate funds for this project
Become readers with comprehension
with varied strategies in reading.
Describe the best practices that you
remember during the conduct of paired
reading and other strategies to non –
readers.
Document the best practices.
This project will be successful if the
following indicators have been achieved
Teachers are able to look for resources,
innovations, interventions & strategies in
reading to be developed among
learners.

during the Pre-Oral
Examination For every 28 students in Cabuynan Elementary School,
there is one identified non-reader.

 METHODS

Each teacher had their own methodology in

teaching the non-readers how to read.

Teachers were given the freedom to use their own

methodology in tutoring the non-readers.
 Salome Roa
- PVOSBM (mastery) x,y,z with pictures using MTBLE

- Blending of sounds using the Fuller Technique

- Take-home activities

- Sessions were held every Saturday, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

(4x a month)

- Month of July that the child was able to read.

- Teacher demonstrates the correct sound that the pupil
writes.

- Changes strategy

- Teacher points the letter name and pupil gives the

correct sound.

- Blending of sounds.

- Take-home activities

- Sessions were held at weekdays from 4:40 to 5:20 p.m.
