Capturing the
Bedan Culture
What do you see? I see 3 things: A
way up and another way down, a
red arrow pointing towards the
level of the sky, and a young man
carrying a child.
They say that “Once a Bedan,
always a Bedan” and this line
deeply reflect how our culture as
Bedans capture us in this cycle that
builds our identity as individuals.
We grasp our culture and it
becomes our own way of life.
In the different stages that we go
through life as a Bedan – from
being a student, to our attitude
towards work and colleagues, and
finally in building our own
families and cultivating within
them (most especially with our
future children) the characteristic
of a Bedan –
we never fail to end on top as we
are trained to be globally
competitive, fully human, wholly
Christian and truly Filipino.
Inevitably, even if we go through
all the stages and end up in the
level of self-actualization, a Bedan
can always leave BUT will always
return to his/her alma mater.
Another new breed of Bedans will
constantly come along and that is
how our culture goes on and on.

As a Bedan encounters
integration, he transforms
into a new being, befitting
the distinct culture of the
school. This Picture depicts a
Bedan, unleashing his
willpower and continuing to
realize his potentials.
Like the Integration, Bedans
undergo transformations in
order to meet the school’s
mission and vision.
Sometimes, failure comes in
our student life. But that
should not stop us from
achieving what we want.
We grow up to improve. We
face difficulties to succeed.
We metamorphosize to
unleash our fullest potentials.

Second Prize Winner
This picture gives a different
view of the letters of Jose
Rizal to various people during
the late 1800’s. It was a war
between Filipinos and
Spaniards. A battle for
freedom for the Filipinos and
a battle for domination for the
Spaniards.
This was a letter of Jose Rizal
to Ferdinand Blumentritt, a
very close friend of his. It was
a letter about the state on the
Philippines. Bedans have a
strong grasp of Philippine
history and on how our
independence was achieved.
We look back at great people,
like Jose Rizal, who had a big
part in Philippine history and
make sure that their works
and sacrifices will never be
forgotten.
