Introduction

 medical education is inherently stressful and demanding over


whelming burden of information leaves a minimal oppurtunity
for the students to relax and recreate. (sung pak,2013).
 An optimal level of stress enhances learning while excess of
stress can cause health problems. (sung pak,2013).
 The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship
between the level of stress towards the academic
performance of the grade 9 students in the sisters of Mary
School- Girlstown, Inc. s.y.2017-2018.
Conceptual/ Theoretical Underpinnings
Cognitive activation theory of stress
 Is an essential and necessary
physiological response. The
unpleasantness of the alarm is no
health threat.

Statement of the Problem
This study aims to describe the relationship between the level of
stress of the grade 9 students affecting their academic
performance in English in the Sisters of Mary School-Girlstown Inc.
S.Y. 2017-2018.
specifically, it seeks to answer the following queries:
1. What is the level of stress of the Grade 9 students?
2. What is the level of academic performance in english of the
Grade 9 students?
3. Is there significant relationship between the level of stress and
academic performance in english of the Grade 9 students?
4. Based on the findings of the study; what can be proposed to
lessen the level of stress of the student?
Results and Findings

Based on the process integrated in this


study, the researchers had identified the
impact of the level of stress and academic
performance of the grade 9 students in
english through conducting a semi-structured
interview.

Goal: aims to determine the level of stress and


academic performance of the grade 9 students
Objectives: aims to describe the level of stress does
affect their academic performance of the grade 9
students specifically in English.
Activities: before they will start the class we will
make recreational activities to refresh their mind.
Summary
 This study aims to identify the impact of the level of stress of the
grade 9 students and their academic performance on english in the
sisters of mary school- Girlstown inc., it was hypothesized that there
is no significant degree of relationship in the level of stress and their
academic performance it was accepted.
 This study used a semi-structured interview guide in the
quantitative phase that aims to identify the impact on the
relationship of the level of stress and academic performance of the
grade 9 students that were personally administered to the selected
students in each section from A-J.
Conclusion
Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions are
thereby stated;
1. The level of stress is one of the negative impacts to the students
academic performance in english. Therefore, not only stress can
affect the academic performance of the students in english, they
have to do is to manage there stress and academic performance in
english.
2. the students were not stress with regards to their academic
performance in English. Therefore, the students had no difficult in
english subject.
3. The level of stress was moderately effective on having the
students higher scores in english subject.
Recommendation
 School Administration: the school administrator benefits from it in a way
that can give or know what activity they can give
 Teacher: through the identified impact of the level of stress and academic
performance english teachers will set activities that can students manage
their task given.
 Guidance Counselor: providing counsel and advices to students on how to
manage the stress of the students their academic performance
 Students: the results presented in the study that the stress of the academic
performance of student has big impact. It guide to students for them to
handle the stress.
 Future Researchers: the result of this study will serve as a stepping stone to
those who wanted a research related to this topic. Moreover, it will provide
a great deal background
