(GST) before and after
its implementation

Objective
To provide the
government with a
valuable feedback
which can be used
accordingly to
strengthen the policy
Sentiment Analysis has mostly been used by
business organizations

It hasn’t been used by governments to study


the impact of its policies

Why GST Current government has been implementing


policies which are highly controversial, like
Demonetization

Thus, sentiment analysis of GST is done to find


out people’s response towards it
Opinions are collected from Twitter
through Web Scraping

Data will be collected from the period 1st


January, 2017 till 31st December, 2017
Data Study has been divided into 2 time
periods
• 1st Jan – 30th Jun: 6 months before the
implementation of GST
• 1st Jul – 31st Dec: 6 months after the
implementation of GST
Tokenize the tweets
NLP
POS tagging

Methodology Lemmatization

Sentiment Calculation

‘SentiWordNet’ lexicon will be used
