 Basic drawing skills Working drawings are part of the complete set of

Criteria of a good working drawing


• Accurately drawn
• Drawn with appropriate symbols & conventions
• Well dimensioned
• Proper graphical representation
• Drawn in referring appropriate scale

The primary role, or function of working drawings [ sometimes called “construction” or


more correctly “ contract” drawings], is to convert design data into construction
information, facilitating timely conveyance of it and clearly communicating. That
information to the various contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, suppliers and
manufacturers that have a part in the project construction.
