Executive Summary
This photography business plan shows how K4
Photo Studio will meet the needs to capture the
special moments in people’s lives and present them
in the best light. We will establish a relationship in
which we initiate the calls to keep their photos up
to date. Digital files of their photos will be available
for free by e-mail, or with a nominal fee for CD.
Because of our relationship with the families, when
something big like a wedding comes, there's no
place else they would go.

2
Executive Summary … Cont’
The opening of K4 Photo Studio will mark a
change in the way professional photography is
delivered. Rather than being a rare place to visit,
this photo studio will be a fun part of a family's
lives, helping them capture special moments
and share them in a digital world.

in their homes.

client's scheduled needs at all times.

17
Market Trends
• Photography has gone digital.
• Digital cameras are replacing conventional cameras. Even
cell phones have digital cameras on them.
• The uses of photography have expanded as well because of
Web pages on the Internet and email.
• Digital images are needed for printing uses as well, for such
uses as brochures and business cards.
• Photo studios have mostly switched to digital format
because it also allows for easy processing and
manipulation.
• They have been less amenable to making digital files
affordably available to clients, and this is a trend on which
we intend to capitalize.

18
Market Needs
• Families have photos taken to preserve memories. Most
photos are taken by consumers with their own cameras,
which are increasingly digital and are even part of their cell
phones.
• Most of these photos are the family to view them. These
are the walk-in customers that will fill into the shopping
area.
• Consumers generally engage professional portrait
photographers when the photos will be viewed outside the
family and when quality matters.
• They have the budget and the need to use them for their
families because they often entertain at home and their
family photos will be on display.

19
Competitors
• Sharel Photography - highly creative freelance
photographer with a style that one would
expect to find in a national magazine
• Three Stars Trading - typical photographer
located in Phase 1 of Desa Ilmu with
concentrating on walk-in customers which
requires only the IC photos.

20
• My Bazaar Student Centre - located near the
students’ apartment and pass by offers same-
day photos. This is easier to accomplish with
digital processing for a studio organized
around speed, but quality is necessarily
sacrificed. Prices are average.

21
Competition and Buying Patterns
• Purchasing decisions generally begin with an
urgent need, such as a graduation picture.
• During festive, family photos need to be taken,
and we are able to fulfill their need.
• Buyers are most likely to seek a professional by
referral from someone who has used their
services.
• Some are looking in the Yellow Pages, but
increasingly online, especially if they are young
22
Business Plan
• The key element of K4 strategy is to reach the
families that requires their memorable
moment to capture in the lenses of camera
that later will be hung onto their wall for their
visitors to see and cherish
• Referrals will be solicited from clients through
specialty advertising to reach their friends and
family.

23
Marketing Strategy
• We take the initiative to call our clients, if they
request this service, to schedule appointments to
mark the special stages of growth in their
families.
• We're there for baby pictures, graduation,
wedding pictures and photos for their
professional needs.
• Our prices are about the same as those at other
photo studios, but we email digital files of our
clients' images for free to help them put their
pictures on the Web.

24
Distribution Strategy
K4 Photo Studio will be located in the centre of
attraction in Kota Samarahan where the place
offers a large variety of services including
fashion and lifestyle, sports, restaurants and
cafes, bookstores, cyber cafes, food court and an
eight-screen Cineplex with ample parking space,
definitely will lure the walk in customers.

25
We will also be available for photo shoots at
clients' homes or in nature. By the free
consultation on how and where the picture
should be taken, the customers will be eager to
have their picture taken; especially the price
that we offer is very attractive and suit to what
the family require and budget

26
Marketing Programs

• We take the initiative to make these calls and
include inexpensive CDs and free emails of their
digital images.
• For the working professionals with children who
need to capture their growth and special
moments and share them with wall portraits and
the Internet.
• We will remind our customers when photos need
taken so these moments aren't lost.
27
Pricing Strategy
• Our prices are competitive with other high-
quality professional photographers in the
area, but digital files are delivered affordably
by CD or free by email.
• Our value added is in our programs of calls to
capture the growth of the family.
• We also offer the package that suit to the
customers’ budget without scarifying the
quality.

28

• K4 Photo Studio will help our clients to look
their best, will keep their photos up-to-date,
and will capture the special moments of their

baby pictures, as gateway products for our
programs of ongoing photography.

Page ad and a website. During the first six
months, we will run display ads in the local
paper and radio spots on several different
local stations such as Sarawak FM, Catz FM,
Muzik FM.
• There will be banners and fishtails hung in the
specific spot to attract the passed by people.

30
Sales Strategy
• A special for the first baby picture will be a
regular feature of our pricing structure.
• This is offered with the intent of getting the
whole family on an ongoing basis as clients,
