The Transportation Planning Interface (TPI) supports transportation planning for bulk material shipments and optimization of bulk material shipments TPI supports data transfer from the R/3 system to the external TPS – Location master data – Orders – Status values for planned shipments TPI supports data transfer from the external TPS to the R/3 system – Transfer of planned shipments that are based on orders from the R/3 system – Transfer of planned shipments that are based on orders from the external TPS The R/3 system and the external TPS exchange error logs ALE, IDocs and RFCs are used to exchange data
Transportation Planning Interface: Master data distribution
The master data for transportation planning has to be identical in the R/3 System and in the external TPS Location, driver, vehicle, transport unit, vehicle are relevant master data for distribution Distribution to external TPS is done through – Transfer orders by means of message control – Transfer orders using program ROIKPRTP – Automatically transfer orders at specific times using program ROIKPRTP – Automatic distribution with an activated change pointer
Transportation Planning Interface: Master data distribution
Distribution of planned shipments to R/3
– TPI transfers shipment documents that were formatted by external TPS using message type OILSH1 and IDoc type OILSHI01 – In case of replenishment orders, sales orders and deliveries are created – In case of call-in orders from the R/3 System, the delivery is planned – In the R/3 System, the inbound data is formatted by function module IDOC_INPUT_OILSH2 and is further processed – Shipment comparer processes cyclic changes made to shipments by external transportation planning systems (TPS), which do not have their own change history.
