PPB - Basic Productive Process

The Basic Productive Process (PPB) was defined by Law No. 8,387, of December 30, 1991, as "the
minimal set of operations, manufacturing facility, which characterizes the effective industrialization of
a product."
PPB has been used in exchange for the federal government to tax incentives promoted by the
legislation of the Manaus Free Trade Zone and the industrial incentive legislation.
In short, the PPB consists of minimum required manufacturing steps that companies must meet to
make certain product as one of the counterparts to the tax benefits established by law. The PPB are
established through ministerial decrees, signed by ministers to development Industry and Foreign
Trade (MDIC) and of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI).

PPB - Basic Productive Process “Data Link Cable”

I - WHEN THE CONVERTER AND HAS BATTERY CHARGER CORD BUILT:

a) plastic injection covers or enclosures;
b) printing of electrical contacts, where applicable, except in the case of metal parts on injected into
plastic parts;
c) assembling and welding of all components on printed circuit boards, where applicable; and
d) integration of printed circuit boards, where applicable, and the other parties in the formation of the
final product

II - WHEN THE CONVERTER OR NOT OWN CORD CHARGER BUILT, BUT USED WITH DATA
CABLE:
a) plastic injection covers or enclosures;
b) printing of electrical contacts, where applicable, except in the case of metal parts on injected into
plastic parts;
c) assembling and welding of all components on printed circuit boards, where applicable; and
d) integration of printed circuit boards, where applicable, and the other parties in the formation of the

PPB - Basic Productive Process “Data Link Cable”

Art. 3 Production of the DIRECT CURRENT CONVERTER (AC / DC) or BATTERY CHARGER FOR
MOBILE PHONE, WITH BUILT-IN ELECTRIC CABLE, transformers and electric cables, assembled
with connectors, used by the company, in the calendar year, should fulfill their respective Basic
Productive Process, when produced in the Manaus Free Zone, or meet production steps described
in Annexes I and II of this Ordinance, when produced in other regions of the country, in the following
percentages in the calendar year, in quantity :
I - transformers: 85% (eighty five percent); and
II - electric cables: 90% (ninety percent).

Art. 4 Production of the DIRECT CURRENT CONVERTER (AC / DC) or BATTERY CHARGER FOR
PHONE WITHOUT ELECTRIC CABLE (USED WITH DATA CABLE), processors and data cables
used by the company, in the calendar year, should fulfill their respective Basic Productive Process,
when produced in the Manaus Free Zone, or meet production steps described in Annexes I and II of
this Ordinance, when produced in other regions of the country, in the following percentages in
amount:
I - transformers: 85% (eighty five percent); and
II - data cables : minimum of 80% percentage (eighty percent).

MANUFACTURE OF CABLES MOUNTED WITH CONNECTORS FOR A CONVERTER AND

BATTERY CHARGER FOR PHONE:

Article 1. They are WIRES production steps AND CABLES WITH CONNECTORS OR DATA
CABLES FOR A CONVERTER AND BATTERY CHARGER FOR PHONE AND CELL.:

I - cut the cable in the specified size;

II - stripping cable;
III - winding the mesh, where applicable;
IV - welding or crimping terminals, where applicable;
V - integration of terminals in the housing receptacle of the receiver, if applicable; or
VI - the welding cable in the housing receptacle connector terminals; or
VII - cable welding on the printed circuit board mounted with components and connector, if
applicable.

Generally, setting initiative or PPB change to a specific product is the manufacturer interested in
encouraged production. Upon receipt of the proposal, the Government, through the GT / PPB, will
evaluate the election, working so that it reaches the maximum of national added value, through the
consolidation of the production chain, observing the reality of Brazilian industry.

Thus the development of PPB is a negotiation process involving the interested companies, potential
domestic suppliers, other competing companies within the same segment and associations
representing the sectors involved.

The GK & B will request the amendment and the obligation to buy in Brazil from 2016.
