Creativity involves imagining new ideas, while innovation is implementing creative ideas. Creativity generates unique ideas and has no risk or monetary requirements, whereas innovation introduces new things to the market, requires funding, and carries risk. According to Darwinian theory, creativity arises from natural variations that are selected through cognitive or cultural processes and retained. Highly creative individuals have diverse interests, openness to complexity, and independence that allows fewer constraints on thoughts. Innovation and creativity can be increased through collaborative efforts that combine diverse perspectives, as evidenced by the collaborative discovery of DNA's structure.

Creativity is related to ‘imagination’, but innovation is related
to ‘implementation’. • The quality of thinking new ideas and putting them into reality is creativity. • The act of executing the creative ideas into practice is innovation. • Creativity is an imaginative process as opposed to innovation is a productive process. • Creativity can never be measured, but Innovation can be measured. • Creativity is related to the generation of ideas which are new and unique. Conversely, Innovation is related to introduce something better into the market. • Creativity does not require money. On the other hand, innovation requires money. • There is no risk involved in creativity, whereas the risk is always attached to innovation. DARWANIAN PERSPECTIVE OF CREATIVITY • Darwin gives a theory of natural selection which decides that which species will survive in nature. • According to Darwin perspective, creativity involves the following three conditions: 1) There exists some processes that generates variations. 2) By these variations the fitness of the variants is decided by the natural selection. But in case of humans, the selectors are more likely to be cognitive or cultural in nature. 3) There is some retention procedure that preserves and reproduces the variations so selected. • So the creative genius requires the unpredictable generation of rich diversity of alternatives. According To Dean Keith Simonton: What creativity is? • Creativity appears in a person who has the following features: Creative people are array of intellectual, cultural and aesthetic interests. They are widely open to novel ,complex and ambiguous stimuli in their surroundings. Highly creative people are introverted.
Highly creative individual are independent ,self-
directed and unconventional. As a result they impose fewer constraints on their thoughts INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY THROUGH COLLABORATIVE SPIRIT • Creative genius are ready to have the ideas of others. But there is difficulty for the group to come together which allows thinking to grow through open and honest collaboration. • Let us consider the discovery of DNA’s structure. It is the result of successful collaboration of James Watson ,Maurice Wilkins, Crick and Pauling. Their different styles of work were the key aspect to the discovery of DNA(deoxyribonucleic acid). • Thus it demonstrates that India can leverage its resources for innovation and creativity through diversity.
