Modified Block
- In a modified-block format letter, all text is left aligned (except the
author's address, date, and closing), paragraphs are not indented, and the
author's address, date, and closing begin at the center point.
Semi- Block
- This is similar to the Modified block format, except that the first
line of each paragraph is indented.

Recipient’s Address
- This is where you want to send your letter to
- This includes the name of the recipient and position.
- Leave enough space for the recipient’s address before the
salutation.
Salutation
- This is a greeting that usually begins with the word Dear,
followed by the name and the title of the addressee.
- Use the last name of the person after the word Dear such as
in Dear Ms. Lanaria.
- If the gender of the person is unknown or unclear to you, you
may address him by his title or position in the company, such
as in Dear Hiring Manager or Dear Sir/ Madam,
- Leave space before the body of the letter.
Body
- This contains the main text or message written.
- You may begin your letter with a short introduction, then
you may follow it up with the full message.
- After this, you may provide other details in your letter.
- Finally, thank the recipient and ask for some kind of action to
be taken.
- Leave a space before the closing line.
Complimentary Close
- Leave a space before writing the words Sincerely, Regards,
Yours, then end it with a comma.
Signature Line
- Skip two to four spaces before writing in your full name,
including your middle initial, and follow it with a title
(optional).
- Affix your signature in blue or black ink directly above the
signature line.
- This line is always aligned with the heading.
Enclosures
- This contains the documents enclosed in the same envelope
or package as the letter.
- These are the attachments of the letters.
- Should there be more than one of it, indicate the name of
each document to be included.
There are many ways to close or end a business letter
depending on how formal you wish to be. Three
popular complimentary closings are Sincerely,
Respectfully, and Best regards.

Headings. This includes the name, address, zip code contact number,
email address.
Objective. This is where you will mention what you are trying to
accomplish in your career life.
Work history. This section include your work experiences for which you
were paid.
Skills, talents, and abilities. This part shows one’s abilities or special
knowledge about something that would be essential for the job he is
applying for. Skills should be written in a parallel structure.
