What is an Itinerary?

An itinerary determines the specific route for a shipment.

Itineraries also filter down the number of options OTM


needs to consider when building shipments.

Itinerary Types

There are different types of itineraries:


• Single leg itinerary
• Multi-stop itinerary
• Multi-leg itinerary

Single Leg Itinerary

Represents a direct move between a source location and a


destination location. The lane described by the itinerary
can be general or specific.

Multi-stop Itinerary

Represents one move with multiple stops. Each move


must use one and the same rate.

Multi-leg Itinerary

Represents multiple moves that are related to one another


but differ in for example transport mode, equipment, rate,
or carrier.
