APPLYING STUDIES TO ENGAGEMENT

 Applying knowledge regarding what stage of life a person is in can be helpful in determining appropriate tone and
behavior.
 Old-age; which covers a diverse group of people advanced in age and having various differences among themselves.
 Not just people who are dying.
 Considering the individual’s environment can also be of use in adding context to the individual’s position in life.
 Time and place that they grew up in
 Where they are now
USING EMPATHY, REFLECTION, AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

 Empathy
 Truly immersing yourself in the feelings and contexts of another in an attempt to gain a deeper understanding of the
individual.
 Reflection
 Growing from our social interactions through taking time for evaluation.
 Interpersonal Skills
 Using personality and social skills to effectively engage and to help others to feel comfortable around us.
