Feedback for the works done so far:

Strength (SPO)
 Come with news and programs every time
 Despite the weak relations among the packages and inconsistency, all are in the
program
 Listen to the editors’ feedbacks
 There are creative staffs
 Young and matured staff composition
CONTINUED …

The following are weaknesses(SPO):

 No plan and if there is one it is not strictly followed and as result the news and
programs are always based on events- and even trends
 Lack of independent radio program or news
 Absence impact assessment at least with small scale population and stakeholders
 Under use of man power and absence of intensive training
 Under reporting of investigative issues
 Social responsibility-risk minimization or minimizing the ripple effect of a story
CONTINUED…

 Lack of variety –always similar news and programs from similar

sources

 Weak or no analysis or news in detail

 Rare follow ups or development of news or programs

 Dearth of peer review –pre and post production

CONTINUED …

 Similar format-news+ program(interviews) + outstanding police investigation

story+(drama or Poetry)+guest+ VOX pop+ feature focusing on police members
who are exemplary and working under harsh conditions
 Presenting-similar face and voice
 Weak language style-grammar, value laden words, incomprehensible titles,
 Weak reporting on development of projects-merely reporting inaugural
ceremony
CONTINUED …

 Opportunities for new comers to do the programing beginning

from planning
 Program and news repeats would sometimes become stale for the
audience as time pass by
 Reporting events lag behind their good time-lacking recency
 Similar pattern of writing –and no culture of editing each other’s
stories among the team
CONTINUED …

 Lack of intelligibility in writing-Conveying immediate meaning

with clarity and brevity is a task that requires refinement of thought
and a facility with words.

 The first requisite is to understand the story so that it can be told

without recourse to the scientific, commercial, legal, governmental or
social gobbledygook which can often surround the official giving of
information.
CONTINUED…

Key to intelligibility-the reporter should answer the following

questions regarding the story

 ‘What has happened?’

 ‘When and where did it happen?’

 ‘Who was involved?’

 ‘How did it happen and why?’
