P.2 AP Biology
Project Purpose
The Human Impact
❏ Humans impact the environment by the use of natural resources, and
how they take care of the environment-negative effects can include
pollution or climate change

“Call to Action”
❏ Taking care of the environment is going to end up benefiting us in the
long run as we are the people who live in it

The Importance of Knowing

❏ Educating the public is necessary as people need to be aware of their
environment in order to preserve the beauty of it.

Efforts taken by society

Conservations
★ Binational conservation have been successful in
protecting a small population of 120 in Sonora,
Mexico
○ It has been working, but this act has only
been beneficial for 8% of the population

Donations
★ The WWF organization set up an Adopt a Jaguar
donation
○ It helps out as the money goes to the
conservations, but it has not been
efficient because it doesn’t ensure that
they will not be hunted
Our Solution ■ We feel that raising money and developing
animal conservations are a great idea, but it
does do much for the ones in the wild. Our
idea is to develop systems of protection
throughout regions that are known to be
inhabited by jaguars; this way their lifestyle
won’t be changed and they can be safe. There
will be people tracking and observing their
activity at all times and ensuring there are no
threats.
