Infographics allow the organization of information in a way that
appeals to the viewer visually, making it easier to remember.

Step 1: Open PowerPoint by typing it into the
search bar on your desktop

Step 2: Open a blank template

Step 3: Go to “View” tab, then check
the boxes “Ruler” and “Guides.”

The slides should look like this

Notice the lines

Adding Shapes
Decide what the infographic will look like, then figure out what shapes are needed

It will take 3 ovals and 1 circle to
make this

Step 4: Click on “Insert” then
“Shapes”

Step 5: Select the
“Oval”

Since the oval will be used often, resort to


“Recently Used Shapes” when necessary 10
Step 6: Drag the oval into the
desired size
(Utilize “Ruler” and “Guides”)

(This Oval is 4.8” x 3.5”) 11


Step 7: Right click the oval and select “Format Shape”

Step 8: Set the transparency to 50%

Step 9: Copy and paste the oval 2
times

Ctrl+V
Ctrl+C (2 Times)

Step 10: Edit the size of new ovals
(Make them slightly smaller than the original)

Changed the size from


4.8” x 3.5” to 4.3” x 3.1”

Step 11: Repeat steps 4 & 5

Step 12: Repeating Step 6, make a
Circle

(Notice, this circle is 1.8” x 1.8”)

Step 13: Click on “Format Shape” and rotate the
biggest oval by 330°

ovals by 20°

large oval

Step 18: Select every shape by
clicking them while holding the
“Shift” key

“Merge Shapes”

Step 22: Click the two shapes making the circle. Click
on “Format” then “Merge Shapes”. Select “Union”

Step 23: Same as step 9, copy and paste the
shape 3 times

Next, color the shapes. Each one
will have three shades of the
same color

Step 24: Right click the left fragment of the tail. Click on
“Format Shape” and click on “Color”, then choose color

Step 25: Repeat step 24 with the right side of the tail, this
time clicking “More Colors”

slide the black triangle down to a
darker shade

Step 27: Do the same for the circle part, making
it even darker

Step 28: Select every part of the shape and click on
“Format” then “Shape Outline” then “No Outline”

Step 29: Select all parts of the shape again. Right
click it then click on “Group” then “Group”

Step 30: Repeat Steps 24-29 for the other shapes using
different colors

Step 31: Just like Step 12, click on “Insert” then
“Shape” then “Oval”. Create a large circle

Step 32: Color the circle remove the outline

“Presets”

in the center

Now, rotate the first set of shapes

then “Rotate” then “Flip Horizontal”

then “Rotate” then “Flip Vertical”

Step 40: Shift click all of the shapes and right click. Click on “Format Shape” then set the scale to 60%
