D Company First Aid Lab 131400NOV2018
and to introduce basic first aid to MSIs and MSIIs.
Purpose: Instruct D Company Cadets to understand and perform
basic first aid techniques.
Key Tasks:
1. Obtain Resources
2. Assemble Power Point Presentation

End state: All D Company Cadets will be prepared for TC3 at AC AO SCI-Tech
and common injuries encountered during combat. D Company
Cadets will be prepared for TC3 assessment at AC and be able to
treat injuries experienced in combat and for emergencies outside
of combat.

Timeline:
1350-1400: Formation and Accountability in AO Sci-Tech room

1400-1420: Introduction First Aid and evaluating a casualty
1420-1430: Instruction on TCCC
1430-1450: Instruction on shock and opening an airway
1450-1510: Instruction on bleeding and CAT
1510-1520: Instruction on occlusive dressing
1520-1540: Instruction on burns
1540-1550: AAR and release from lab

Resources Required:
6 Tourniquets, 6 Triangle Bandages, 6 Emergency Bandages, 6
Hemostatic Dressings, 6 Occlusive Dressings, 6 Fox Eye Shields,
6 Mannequins, Gauze, DD Form 1380 TCCC, 6 Nasopharyngeal
Airways and Sci-tech room 147.

Concept of Training: During the Power Point instruction, the MSIII Lab instructor will pause the
presentation to allow Cadets to practice the skill discussed. MSIVs and the MSIII Lab instructor will
roam the classroom during this portion to ensure safety and that the skills are being performed
properly.

Task to Cadets
• MSIVs and MSIII Lab instructor will be roaming during hands-on portion to ensure cadets
are on task and performing the skills correctly and safely.
• MSIIIs will be familiar with material prior to the Lab.
• MSIIIs and MSIVs will remind Cadets to hydrate throughout the Lab.
• All Cadets will take notes throughout the Lab.
