Objective
• Present one example of waste handling plant
which works according to the new corporate
procedure.
PROCEDURE (extract)
All converting plants must properly destroy all printed
and unprinted packaging material waste, and make
this waste available for Market Companies within
the Cluster to develop and continuously support
local recycling capacity for post-consumer cartons.
Deadline: All converting plants must ensure by no later than
December 2006 that all printed and/or laminated material is
shredded.

What are the reasons for this policy?

• Prevent misuse of trademarks.

• Prevent other manufacturers from using our waste
material as packaging material for food.
• Meet the demand from some of our major
customers, to destroy any printed waste before it
leaves our plants.
• Address the problem of littering.
• Support our global recycling goal, using factory
waste as leverage for developing recycling capacity.
