BRIEF HISTORY OF MPHS
• 1990, started as Mother of Perpetual Help Child Care Center
then was changed to Mother of Perpetual Help School as
advised by Dr. Icasiano.
-offered preschool courses with 35 pupils only
• 1991, the enrolment grew to 90 pupils
• 1992-1995, offered Grade school courses
• 1996, the school acquired 2000 sq. m lot in Iris St
• 1997, the school leased the another 400 sq. m lot, which
were used in the construction of 5 classrooms for high school
department.
BRIEF HISTORY OF MPHS
• 1998-1999, beginning of the high school department
• 2000-2001, the secondary level was completed
• 2002, the 4-storey MPHS building was built
• 2011, new beginning of Mother of Perpetual Help School
Inc. under the management of Hon. Ruel S. Marpa
• 2017,Mother of Perpetual Help School Inc., continues to be
a heaven for everyone who became a part of it.
PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION
MOTHER OF PERPETUAL HELP SCHOOL INC, believes
that education is the legacy of every generation. In
life, it is individual’s greatest possession; his inspiration,
his hope, his key to success, his investment, his wealth.
It determines the kind of person he becomes, the kind
of life he leads in his adult years, the level of society
he shall belong to the government he shall create
and the kind of country he will have.

is a Catholic Educational Institution that
envisions itself as a center for academic
excellence and catalyst for change in the
society.
MISSION OF MPHS
We commit ourselves to the holistic
formation of persons empowered to
uphold integrity, goodwill and ecological
order.
OBJECTIVES OF MPHS
School professes the following specific objectives:
1. To know their talents and potentials to make difference in society.
2. To acquire basic knowledge and skills relevant to 21st century
learning.
3. To experience Catholic Education through Christ-centered
formation and situation in their families, in school and the wider
community.
4. To engage themselves in social and environmental concerns both
as an individual and as a group in the local and global scenario.
5. To inculcate in the student the virtue of humility especially in
moments of joy and fulfillments.
6. To develop in the student awareness of his role and responsibilities to
his family, community and country.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
A. Attendance
-Students are required to attend classes regularly.
-Students who are absent 2 or more days should inform the
class adviser personally by emissary or by phone.
-Absences do not exempt students from submitting the
requirements etc.
-Upon the student’s return to school, a formal letter signed by
the parents/guardians must be presented to the class
adviser/prefect of discipline citing the reason and their
requirements, etc.

B. Tardiness
-Students are required to be punctual in coming to school.
-Students who are not in the campus after the bell rang are
considered late.
-Students are given consideration of five (5) tardy. Therefore,
three (3) tardy shall be equivalent to one (1) day absence.
-Late students should secure a Tardy slip from the office
-Students who are 15 minutes late shall be marked absent on
the affected subject.
-Habitual tardiness Merits a SUSPENSION.

C. Cutting Classes
-Students who are present in some subject but absent on
other subjects are considered “cutting classes”.
-Staying in the comfort rooms or clinic for a period equal to
the length of the subject period without valid causes is
considered truant.
- Cutting classes is considered as major offense.

D. Truancy
-A student who reports to school and decides to leave to go
somewhere else outside the school campus is considered
truant. Such is a blatant violation of the school’s policy of the
student.
E. Uniform and Personal Grooming
- The school uniform is a personification of the school and
students. It must be worn with respect and dignity.

Grade 7-12
GIRLS:
1. The pleated royal blue skirt’s length is 2 inches below the knee.
2. White socks and black leather shoes are worn every Monday
and Tuesday, Gala uniform for Wednesday, Girls Scout uniform
for Thursday and P.E uniform for Friday.
3. Expensive jewelry trendy accessories, lipstick, rouge, nail polish,
etc. are not advised.
4. Hair should always be well combed pony-tailed. Hair clips,
head bands and ribbons are suggested. Bangs are above the
eyebrows.

Grade 7-12
BOYS:
1. Royal blue pants, white polo shirt with logo, black leather
shoes and white or black socks are worn every Monday
and Tuesday, Gala uniform for Wednesday, CAT uniform
for Thursday and P.E uniform for Friday.
2. Proper hair cut is 2 by 3.

F. Norms of conduct in the campus
1. Students are required to pin their school I.D card when
entering the school premises at all times until they get out of
the gate.
2. Silence should be observed along the corridors and stairs.
Students should go up in SINGLE FILE and walk at the RIGHT
SIDE. They should avoid hanging around the offices and
classrooms.
3. Classrooms are to be closed/locked during recess, noon-break
and after class hour. Students are to stay in the grounds and
go up in line WITH THE TEACHER IN CHARGE AFTER BREAK AND
LUNCH TIME once the bell rings. NO EATING INSIDE THE
CLASSROOM.

4. Students should refrain from bringing large sums of money to
school.
5. It is responsibility of the students to take good care of every
school property and facilities in his use. Vandalism is a major
offense.
6. Student should get all his books, etc. from his locker BEFORE
classes start and RETURN it all at dismissal time.
7. Students are not allowed to leave the school once they are
inside unless emergency matter occurs. Doing such, a letter from
parents addressed to the Directress/principal is required before an
early leave form is issued.

8. “NO MAY I GO OUT POLICY” once inside the classroom.
9. Homeworks, projects, “baon”, lunch, etc. that were left
behind or taken to school should be deposited to the school
guard with name tagged and to be claimed by the student
during break time.
10. “TAPAT KO LINIS KO” is highly implemented.
11. NO CELLPHONES allowed inside the school premises. It is
considered a major offense.
12. The school telephone is for business calls only. Students
are encouraged to use it in case of emergency.
ADMINISTRATIVE SANCTION
WARNING- verbal or written given to students
followed by an incident report to parents.
SUSPENSION- is the exclusive of the student from his
class for a number of days during the school year. It
may eventually lead to dismissal iff the student
remains unperturbed.
Two kinds of suspension
Preventive- out of school not allowed to stay within
vicinity of the school. (major cases)
Ordinary- report to school but does assigned task.
ADMINISTRATIVE SANCTION
PROBATION-could be academic or Disciplinary probations.
This sanction gives the student a chance to improve his
Conduct or Academic Standing within the school year.
Failure to do so merits non-admittance next school year.

DISMISSAl- this sanction totally cancels the student’s


opportunity to study in MPHS

EXPULSION-is the ultimate sanction a student may have. The


student is barred from entering the school.
MINOR OFFENSES
1. Shouting/howling in the classroom/corridors,
habitual tardiness.
2. Absences, running/pushing/chasing in the
line/corridors.
3. Distracting classes, wearing improper uniform.
4. Refusal/ not wearing ID, reasing, forcing one’s way.
5. Coming to school without a pen, book, etc.,
SLEEPING during class hours.
6. Improper decorum during school function requiring
his presence.
MINOR OFFENSES
7. Staying in stairways/corridors with an excuse of
“waiting for teacher” or it’s “hot inside the classroom
between class periods.
8. Littering, breaking bottles, picking of flowers/plants,
etc.
SANCTIONS
1st Offense-conference with the student/verbal
warning

2nd Offense- written warning and Incident Report to


parents

3rd Offense- conference with parents; parents are


informed of possible sanctions.

4th Offense- sanction/measure


MAJOR OFFENSES
1. Drug Pushing
2. Membership in fraternity/serenity
3. Possession of dangerous articles such as drugs,
cigarettes, liquor, firecrackers.
4. Possession of Pornographic materials (tape,CD,
magazines, etc.)
5. Vandalism; extortion; forging parent’s signature
6. Falsification of documents; disrespect to
teachers/superiors
MAJOR OFFENSES
7. Breaking into teacher’s table for some information,
confiscated article or evidence.
8. Theft, sexual harassment, PDA
9. Cheating, cutting classes, breaking out of school
perimeter.
10. Going/hanging to unapproved places such as
videoke, billard halls, computer shops, movie house
while in uniform.
SANCTIONS
1st Offense- Confiscation of materials (if any) and
conference with parents;

Imposition of sanctions:
---A minimum of 3 school days suspension
---A 5-point deduction from overall conduct grade of
the particular grading period.
---Non-participation in the commencement exercise
and withdrawal of awards (graduating students)
