is likely to reappear after the punitive

WHY…?
• Punishments work in some cases and not in
other?
• Punishment is more likely to lead to reduction of
behavior if it immediately follows the behavior.
• People are often sent to prison long after the
crime is done. This may help explain the reason
why sending people to jail does not really affect
their behavior.
