• Identify the 3 Key Result Area of Basic Education and
link it to the SIP Process
• Identify the activities in preparing for SIP development 
• Familiarize oneself of the different tools in gathering
information on the situation of children and learners in
terms of their access to quality basic education and the
situation of the school in terms of governance.
• Begin the SIP process by mobilizing the School Planning
Team (SPT)

Activity
1. Form 5 groups of 10.
2. Each team will be given an envelope containing sheets
of papers, with topical phrases, which may either refer
or speak of School Data, People, Process/ Programs,
Activities, Projects (PAP’s).
3. The team will work together in creating sensible
clustering or grouping of the information. They will
create the following clusters :

 School Data  Program
School Process  Projects

What is SIP?
SIP - School Improvement Plan
is a roadmap that lays down
specific interventions that a
school, with the help of the
community and other
stakeholders, undertakes within a
period of three (3) consecutive
school years.
