PROPOSED

CAFETERIA
PURPOSE

The proposal suggests possible

improvements in the existing cafeteria’s
lack of space affecting its food service.
PURPOSE

Do you find it inconvenient to eat in the

present kiosk?

 Yes – 70%
 No – 30%
PURPOSE

Do you prefer a bigger cafeteria near the

ULS (particularly in the parking lot)?

 Yes – 90%
 No – 10%
SCOPE

The scope of this report is limited within the De

La Salle University–Dasmariñas campus and is
done from October 1 to 12, 2010.
This report details the problem stated above,
its causes and effects, its convenience to
DLSU-D, its faculty and staff, and even visitors;
considering that they attend to events
(freshmen orientation, convention, sports
tournament, graduation rites, plays,
productions) and classes (swimming, sports,
dance).
PROCEDURE
The group observed the situation in the
existing cafeteria beside the Ugnayang La
Salle. In this regard, we formulated a set of
questionnaire for 100 students and
consulted some of the school directors.
Given another chance to further improve
this proposal, they are also planning to
conduct interviews and gather information
from the majority of students in the
campus.
PROBLEM
There is a high demand of food service
but due to the small capacity of the present
kiosk, the demand is not being catered to
very well. A lot of students and even
visitors would want better service and
therefore prefer a bigger and conducive
area for waiting.
SOLUTION
The group suggested the construction of
the cafeteria opposite the ULS. This is to
address the amount of customers/students
who eat at the present food kiosk during
events, classes, and many other activities.
BENEFITS
 More students can eat in the proposed cafeteria.
 Students don’t have to rush to the square canteen especially
during peak hours.
 The location is accessible to Ikot La Salle so students do not
have to crowd over the Bahay Pag-Asa’s driveway.
 Everyone can use the space for research since the site is
reached by the Wi-Fi signal.
 Administrators, faculty and staff, students, visitors (local and
national officials and personalities) can drink coffee while waiting
for the event.
 Sponsors of the events can have the luxury of space in the
canteen instead of consuming the lobby space in the ULS.
 Students will not have to crowd in the canteen while waiting for a
vacant space.

CONCLUSIONS

 Students from west campus will not have to rush to

the square canteen especially during peak hours.

 The university can maximize the available space in

the west campus, since the parking lot is seldom
used.

 Students would not have to go outside the campus

to eat; instead stay and eat at the cafeteria.
RECOMMENDATIONS
 The group is recommending the
construction of the cafeteria opposite the
Ugnayang La Salle before the opening
of the next academic year.

 The university administrators must

authorize the cafeteria to serve food,
beverages, and a convenient holding
area for everyone in the campus.
