Ring Spinning

Produce high quality yarn suitable for any

type of textile end product.

Production rate is 15 to 20 times less in

comparison with other spinning systems.

The primary technological limitation of ring

spinning lies in the ring-traveler assembly.
Magnetic Ring & Traveler

•Approach is to replace the traveler with a magnetically

suspended light weight annular disc that rotates in a carefully
pre-defined magnetic field
Yarn Tension in Ring and
Magnetic Spinning
• Conventional ring
spinning forced are found
in four region.
• In magnet ring spinning
tension at third region is
eliminated

magnet

• Levitation is the process by which an object is suspended

by a physical force against gravity, in a stable position
without solid physical contact.
Mechanical System
Description
Principal of Operation

A bias flux is generated across the air gap, shown

in blue paths from both permanent magnets.
One set of coil produce flux in X- direction and
another set in Y-direction
Control Engineering Aspects
Current Increase in Steps

Density of flux increase where gap is more

Prototype
Advantages
Increasing the production speed because of

elimination of the metal/metal contact between the

traveler and ring average 43% saving on
manufacturing cost per spinning unit
Average cost of traveler is saving of 17%.

The traveler as an essential component will become a

permanent component.
Consistence quality parameters such as yarn

hairiness, and thickness irregularity.

Provide for total on-line measuring capability of

yarn quality and production parameters .

Maintenance costs are low due to the absence of

mechanical wear.
Magnetic spinning overcome almost all the

defects caused by the ring traveler system.
