History
• March 6,1856 Maryland Agricultural College opened
• From 1856 – 1866 the college had many presidents, including
George Washington Curtis Lee, the son of Robert E. Lee
• President Lee’s successors turned the college into state property
for $24,000, building some of the oldest structures still in use
today
• For the next century, the college flourished with academics and
athletics.
• Over the years many more buildings were added and it started
to be the nationally known university it is today.

For roommates on freshman year, they are given and can be changed through an application
process. This is the same for the following years with sophomores and above.

Items that are allowed in the dorm are the basics: bedding, organizers, clothes, food (as long as it is
clean), toiletries, and any other necessities for classes. 

The drug and alcohol policy, is that if there is use, distribution of drugs it is a one year suspension
and further criminal proceedings. It is the same for alcohol consumption while under the age of 21.
