DIGUNAKAN UNTUK MELUKISKAN SIFAT DAN KEADAAN
SUATU BENDA, ORANG, DAN HEWAN. CONTOH:

We use who and whom for people, and which for things.
Or we can use that for people or things.
We use relative pronouns:
after a noun, to make it clear which person or thing we are talking
about:

VERB + PREPOSITION
Verbs & Prepositions
Some verbs are usually followed by prepositions before the object of the
verb. these are called dependent prepositions and they are followed by a
noun or a gerund (‘ing’ form).
He’s waiting for a bus.
For is the dependent preposition for ‘wait’

We can use other prepositions with ‘wait’ – e.g. He waited at the bus
stop – but ‘for’ is the dependent preposition.

Here are some other verbs with their dependent prepositions.


Verbs with ‘for’
1. He apologised for being late. You can also ‘apologise to someone’
2. I applied for the job but I didn’t get it.
3. How do you ask for a coffee in Polish?
4. She spent many years caring for her aged parents.
5. I can’t go out tonight because I have to prepare for my interview
tomorrow.
With ‘from’

1. This spray should protect you from mosquitoes.


2. Has he recovered from his illness yet?
3. He won an award because he saved someone from
drowning.
4. I suffer from hay fever.
With ‘in’
1. She believes in ghosts.
2. Our company specializes in computer software.
3. You have to work hard if you want to succeed in life.
With ‘of’
1. I don’t approve of your language, young man.
2. Our dog died of old age.
3. This shampoo smells of bananas.

With ‘on’
1. The film is based on the novel by Boris Pasternak.
2. If you make so much noise I can’t concentrate on my work.
3. Come on! We’re relying on you!
4. We don’t agree on anything but we’re good friends.
With ‘to’
1. Can I introduce you to my wife?

With ‘with’
1. I agree with everything you’ve said.

you need it.
