Module1:

Entering the Exits


The module will help identify your interests and
personality traits through NCAE that will help you
choose the curriculum exit suited for yourself.
Through this module, Grade 12 learners can
determine his/her life and career based on
chosen curriculum exit. Lastly, it is expected that
at the end of the module, Grade 12 learners will
appreciate chosen life, career and curriculum exit
based on one’s interests and personality type.
I. Objectives:
At the end of this module, the learners are expected to:
• relate the results of NCAE in choosing a curriculum
exit;
• determine preferred life and career based on chosen
curriculum exit;
• appreciate the chosen life, career and curriculum exit
based on one’s interests and personality type.
II. Motivation (15 minutes)
Title: “THE SENIOR HIGH CAREER PARTY”

Procedures:
• Arrange the chairs on the sides so that the space will be
maximized for the activities.
• Learners will dance as the music plays
• When the music stops the learners will share with their partner
their answer to the guide questions. The music will continue
after the first sharing

III. Main Activity (40 minutes)

Activity: “GOLDEN DOORS”


Procedure:
• Set up four Golden doors in the four corners of the room to
represent the four curriculum exits of Senior High School namely:
Employment, Entrepreneurship, Higher Education, Middle Level
Skills Development.
• Set up GALLERY OF CAREERS (showing the areas of occupational
interests).
• Ask the learners to bring out the results of NCAE.
• Work on Activity Sheet No. 1 – My Occupational Interests.
• Ask the learners to accomplish the first column based on the
results of their NCAE.

• Learners will reflect on their current occupational interests based on
their self-assessment and plan after senior high school.
• Learners will have a GALLERY WALK and check the meaning of their
highest scores based on what is written in the first and second column
of the activity sheet.
• Learners will choose which door (representing the curriculum exits) to
exit.
• Behind the Golden Doors, they will find different worksheets (which
symbolizes opportunities they can grab as they enter any curriculum
exit). They will have to accomplish what they’ve got behind the golden
doors.
• Learners will do small group sharing to other learners who chose the
same door they have chosen.

Processing Questions:

• How will you relate your occupational interests based


on the results of NCAE to the curriculum exit you
chose to enter?
• After the activity, do you have realizations/insights
developed as senior high school learner who is about
to exit after few months?
Lecturette:
• National Career Assessment Examination aims to
provide guidance to individual learners for their
future educational and career choices. It also
provides basis for profiling learners’ aptitude in the
four Senior High School Tracks. There were three
domains measured in the NCAE such as General
Scholastic Aptitude (GSA), Occupational Inventory
Interest (OII), and Aptitude for Senior High School
(SHS) Tracks.
Lecturette:
• Occupational Inventory Interest is an
inventory/checklist of occupational interests which
provides an assessment on inclinations/preferences
for comprehensive career guidance. A profile chart of
the students’ occupational inclinations and
preferences through the identified cluster
occupations is provided in the results of NCAE.
• After acquiring all the knowledge, skills and attitude
and being aware of their interests and personality
types, Grade 12 Learners are about to choose
curriculum exit they will pursue after senior high
school.
• Grade 12 learners will have to choose whether you
will immediately work since they are of legal age
having the competencies to perform a specific job, or
they pursue a business they can start to earn money.
They can also proceed to higher education and pursue
a degree course or take up any TESDA courses for
middle level skills development.
• EMPLOYMENT

Any senior high school graduate who plans to work after


senior high school can look for a job in any Public
Employment Service Office (PESO) in their locality or they
can browse in www.ble.dole.gov.ph possible local
employment.

• ENTREPRENEURSHIP

• However, if a senior high school graduate plans to pursue


entrepreneurship exit, they have to consider many things.
They have to be critical or else you might end up losing
money in investing their capital for business. In the latest
news and updates in Philippine Business they come up
with a list of ideas where they can start and grow their
own business in the Philippines.

 Senior High School graduate who would want to pursue a


degree course in higher education, they can directly
inquire to any colleges and universities in their area. They
can also refer to www.ched.gov.ph - the official website
of Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for the
recognized programs of schools
Curriculum Exit: MIDDLE LEVEL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

 Moreover, there were senior high school learners who


may want to pursue middle level skills development after
finishing a specific track and strand in senior high school,
they can refer to Technical Education and Skills
Development Authority (TESDA) offerings in their locality.
For those who went to Technical Vocational Livelihood
Track and earned National Certification Level II and
wished to be advanced or grow, they can go for higher
level of national certification or Trainer’s Methodology.
Whatever curriculum exit you will pursue, you can be
successful. It is up to you how you can maximize
your talents and resources.

V. Application

Procedures:
• Learner prepare a paper and coloring materials.
• Learners to draw a symbol to represent the life and career
they imagined after entering a specific curriculum exit.
• Ask some volunteers to explain why they have chosen the
symbol and share their appreciation to their imagined life,
career and curriculum exit in the future.
