Convergence is creating new businesses and forcing existing businesses to adapt quickly or
die. We seeing the convergence of telecommunications, IT & media ; the convergence of
fixed & mobile services and convergence at device level. All of these trends are creating new
markets and making other equipment, products, services and even whole companies rapidly
obsolete. For technology manufacturers or service providers, deciding which markets to base
your future on become a challenge with serious consequences, should BT or AT&T provide
home TV service to replace their declining telephony revenues? Should Kodak integrate a
mobile phone into its cameras or just give up?
Does Microsoft still need to sell boxed software when you can download application onto a
smart phone? Does everyone have to have a mobile phone or have no future? When the
communication of voice is just another software application what do equipment
manufacturers like Nortel or alcatel – lucent do? Google just does search right?
Collisions within the telecoms, IT and media sectors are occurring now on a daily basis. Like
any busy crossroads, there are going to be near misses and head on crashes. As ever, the
survivors will be the companies that understand their customers, and are agile enough to

1. Yes, we think if BT or AT&T provide home TV service it can replace their declining
telephony revenue. Because home TV service idea give many information from

2. Kodak should give up, if Kodak wants to developing in markets, Kodak should follow
market needs. People more likely use modern camera then a manual camera which
still using film to use it.
3. Microsoft no need to sell boxed software anymore, it can replace by opening original
store in their website and people can buy it and not use fake software anymore.
4. Yes they does, because mobile phone is an important device in this era.

component to run it.

interest about which product can satisfy they interest. This problem made mike rock
worried about the future of company who has characteristic in their product. Such as
Kodak who still stubborn about using film in their product compared other modern
