 Antiseptics
• Is a drug that stops, slows or
prevents the growth of
microorganisms.
• Bahan yang diguna bagi
mencegah sepsis.
• Hanya untuk kegunaan luaran
sahaja (pada kulit).
 Tindakan
• Membunuh mikroorganisma
patogenik pada permukaan
tisu/ kulit.
• Merencatkan atau menghalang
tumbesaran mikroorganisma
patogenik pada tisu/ kulit.
 Contoh ubat
• Benzalkonium chloride
(Benza)
• Cetrimide cream/ lotion
(Cetavlon)
• Chlorhexidine gluconate 5%
solution (Hibitane)
• Chlorhexidine gluconate 4%
Scrub (Hibiscrub)
• Chlorinated lime solution
(Eusol)
• Crystal violet 0.5% Paint
• Framycetin Sulphate 1%
(Sofra-Tulle)
• Hydrogen Peroxide 20 vol

• Apply when required.
• Apply to the affected area
once or twice daily (for

solution is an irritant.

1-2 times/day & allow to dry.
11. Silver Nitrate 0.5% Lotion

• Apply undiluted to
affected areas.

• Mild allergic reactions
– Dermatitis, rashes, itching
• Mild irritation & burning
• Photosensitivity
