INTRODUCTION
• This document is a cumulative report documenting a project sponsored
by Black-I Robotics to design a multi-weapon auto aiming and trigger
system for rapidly deployable remotely operated armed support robots
used in law enforcement applications.

• Black-I Robotics is a defence company located in Tyngsboro, MA that

specializes in quick-deploying unmanned semi-autonomous robotic
systems.

• This paper outlines the motivation for the project, methodology used to
complete the project, and relevant background research on topics related
to the project.

• System specifications as well as design approaches are described and

the overall design process is documented.

EXISTING SYSTEM FOR BLOCKAGE REMOVAL

1. Human effort:

Sanitary workers are

depended for
blockage removal

2. Jet water: MOTIVATION

High pressure water is
flushed into the drains

3. Use of metal mesh:

Metal meshes are placed in

the drains to extract solid
waste

• Figure shows the proposed system

installed at different locations in 500m -1km

the sewage system. Underground Sewage Drain

Module
2 Module
1
• Each module contains three units of
operation :
 ACCUMULATION UNIT: It
accumulates the solid wastes
present in the sewage drain.

 SEGREGATION UNIT: It
segregates the accumulated
solid waste.

 COMMUNICATION UNIT: It sends

a message to the authorities.
IEAE-ICETSE 22 SaIT, Bengaluru 12-MAY-2017
10

ACCUMULATION UNIT :

• Metal mesh is placed in the sewer lines to filter the solid waste
• The water level sensor senses a rise in water level due to blockage
in the mesh due collection of solid waste.
• Wiper blade swipes the waste into a bin.
• The basket is also made of metal mesh to drain excess water when
it moves to the segregation unit after collecting the waste.
IEAE-ICETSE 22 SaIT, Bengaluru 12-MAY-2017
11

SEGREGATION UNIT :

• At the segregation unit, the solid waste are segregated into metal,
degradable and non-degradable wastes.
• When the metal sensor senses metal, then it is moved to the bin
collecting metal wastes.
• When the capacitive sensor senses a waste beyond certain humidity
threshold, then it is moved to the bin collecting degradable waste and
the remaining are sent to the non-degradable waste bin.
IEAE-ICETSE 22 SaIT, Bengaluru 12-MAY-2017
12

COMMUNICATION UNIT :

• The Communication Unit consists of a level sensor in the bin collecting

segregated waste
• The sensor indicates the filling up of the bin
• A module is placed in the bin, which communicates to the authorities
about the filling up of the bin

13

ADVANTAGES :

• More flow of water to water treatment plants.

• Problem of blockage in the Sewer lines is evaded.
• Solid waste segregation into Degradable, Non-Degradable and Metal.
• Human effort reduced tremendously.
• Sanitary and hygienic environment is created.

APPLICATIONS:

• Domestic sewage system.

• Screening of solid wastes in Pre-treatment of waste water.
• River water filtration.
• Industrial Effluent treatment.

15

CONCLUSION
• This system is a pace forward to the existing system to forge
the removal of blockages in the sewer lines and their segregation
into an easy process.

• The proposal discussed is efficient and time saving than the

currently employed method where the municipality employees
perform.

• It acts as an aide for reducing pollution level and in the long

run focuses on the development of the nation and restoration of
our eco-system.
