INTRODUCTION

Background

Euphorbia hirta, belongs to the family of Euphorbiaceae which is a large family of

dicotyledons, with about 300 genera and over 5,000 species. Here in the Philippines, the

Euphorbia hirta, is commonly referred to as Tawa-tawa or Gatas-gatas in some provinces. It is also

known as Asthma weed or Snake weed in the United States. The plants of 3 different species

share Phoretic variations, these plants are: (1) Mutha (Cyperus rotundus), (2) Gatas-gatas

(Euphorbia hirta) and (3) Botoncillo (Gomphena globosa).

Tawa-tawa is usually very abundant in tropical regions such as the Philippines. A simple weed

scattered in sunny lawns, waste places and open grasslands. It is pantropic in distribution.
 Research Questions:

 1.What are the effects of Tawa-tawa ?

2 .What are the benefits that could get from Tawa-tawa?

 3. Is this effective?
PROBLEM NO.1: WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF TAWA-TAWA?

 Based on the survey, according to the 5 respondents

that are victims of dengue in the place of Lugait mis.or

said that the effects of “Tawa-tawa” in their body is good

because there is no side effects, the respondents said

also that the taste of the “tawa-tawa” is bitter, but after 1

week of treatment the condition of their body turns back

into normal and the fever is gone.

 PROBLEM NO.2: WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS
THAT COULD GET FROM TAWA-TAWA?

 According to the 5 respondents, they get a lot of benefits from tawa – tawa not

only saving money but it can also heal their body ,they recommend this kind of

herbal plant to their neighbors instead of buying some other medicines that waste a

lot of money because tawa-tawa will be found anywhere like grasslands and

roadslides. The respondents are very thankful because that tawa-tawa was

discovered. Not only 5 people will cured but all around in the in the Pilippines that

having a trust of this herbal plant called tawa-tawa. This is not totally proved by the

doctors but they recommend this to use because it is effective.

 CONCLUSION

 The Researcher conclude that Tawa-tawa herbal plant is very is common

because if its effectivity that fights dengue. Finally the researcher proved that this

kind of plant tawa-tawa or in other words called euphorbia Hirtais very effective

for dengue cases. This study aims to protect the people from dengue and to lessen

the high level of percentage about dengue cases, so dengue cases must be stop by

the help of the tawa-tawa because this is recommended by the doctors and many

people in here in the Philippines used tawa-tawa to fight dengue because there is

no side effects and after 1 week of treatment the fever will be gone so nothing to

worry about.
