The meaning of the Road to
Emmaus
Jesus approached the men and assured them that the scripture’s
message about God’s plan was coming to fruition.
They were traumatized by the events of the crucifixion and thus found
it difficult to believe that there was light at the end of the tunnel.
Their trust is a little like ours – if we trust that Jesus was (and still is
and will be), then we will continue our journey with God and carry on
Jesus’ mission of good words and deeds.
Key Verse: Jesus explained to them what was said about Himself in all the
Scriptures. He began with Moses and all the Prophets. - Luke 24:27
Main Point: Jesus’ death and resurrection fulfilled all of God’s promises.
