1. An Experimental Study of the Mechanical Properties of Glass
Fiber Reinforced High Strength Concrete Partially Replacing
Cement with Nano Silica by Pathan Sameer Khan et.al.
The studies were conducted on the compressive, flexural and tensile strengths of
concrete by varying the percentage of fiber from 0% to 1% by weight of concrete at
constant 2% Nano silica in cement. The obtained results were then compared with M40
conventional concrete. It was observed that the compressive, flexure and tensile strength
is increased with the increase in fiber content up to 0.5-0.75% thereby indicating that
0.75% is the optimal fiber content. An increase of 17%, 42% and 54% over M40
conventional concrete were registered for compressive, flexure and split tensile strengths
respectively.

2. Durability Study on Nano Concrete by P Vasanthi et.al.

The purpose of this experiment was to determine the effects of addition of nano
silica to the concrete mix. The test results have shown that the M40 grade of concrete
mixed with 2% of Nano silica tested in acidic and alkali condition. The compression
strength for 14, 21 & 28days is 28.7, 37.33 & 41.8N/mm2respectively. With addition of
2% of Nano silica in acidic condition, it has been found that compressive strength has
increased to 33.05, 42.92 & 48.07N/mm2 for 14, 21 & 28days respectively. In alkali
condition, it has been found that compressive strength has increased to 37.70, 46.09 &
51.36N/mm2 for 14, 21 & 28days respectively. Hence it has been proven that addition of
Nano silica to the concrete mix results in an increase in the compressive strength and
durability when compared to the ordinary concrete mix.

3.Performance on the study of Nano Materials for the
Development of Sustainable Concrete by S Sanju, et.al.
This paper is about, to study the effect of incorporating nano particles such as
Nano Al2O3, Nano Fe2O3 and Nano SiO2 on mechanical and durability properties of
concrete. Nano particles were added in three different dosages of 0.5%, 1% and 1.5% of
weight of the Cementitious material into the concrete mixture. In the experimental
evaluation of strength properties of nano modified concrete with addition of nano particles,
it has been found that the compressive strength increased to a maximum value of 54.6%
and 57.6% with 1.5% addition of Nano SiO2 and binary combination of NSF respectively
with respect to control specimen. The split tensile strength increased to a maximum value
of 76.8% for NSF and 58.8% for NS3 with respect to control mix.

4. Hair Fiber Reinforced Concrete by Jain D. et.al.

The experiments were conducted on concrete beams and cubes with various
percentages of human hair fiber i.e. 0%, 1%, 1.5%, 2%, 2.5% and 3% by weight of cement.
For each combination of proportions of concrete one beam and three cubes are tested for
their mechanical properties. By testing of cubes and beams we found that there is an
increment in the various properties and strength of concrete by the addition of human hair
as fiber reinforcement.
