NITROGEN CYCLE

PG. 369
NITROGEN CYCLE
• Nitrogen is a component that we see in the
different nucleic acid of organisms, proteins, and
other vitamins. It is also abundant in the
atmosphere that is comprised about 79%. Though
it is available in the atmosphere, animals and
plants cannot use it readily
• Before a plant can use the nitrogen in the
atmosphere, it should be converted in the form of
nitrate or ammonia by the use of the process of
nitrogen fixation. It is the process in which
nitrogen combines with hydrogen through the help
of the nitrogen-fixing bacteria. This bacteria can be
found in water, soil, and some in the roots of
plants where they have symbiotic relationship
