Zoom Instructions

How to Start with Zoom


Please download Zoom on your computer by clicking the
following link (Also suitable for the phone) :
http://zoom.us/download

When you finished the installation, please log in with your


given zoom account.
Check Zoom Version

You can find the newest version of Zoom there, choose Update.
How to start your class?(1)
The first method:
Sign in your Zoom account, find and click the tab named “New Meeting”,
make sure that your mic and video are on (with NO red line on the icon),
then wait for the student in the meeting room. (Keep your camera and mic
on while waiting)

The second method:
Sign in your Zoom account, find and click the tab named “Join”. Type
your personal meeting ID and your name with the format of teacher XX
For example, Teacher Sam. (Keep your camera and mic on while
waiting)

The third method:
Log in your member center, in the “Classes to start” part, click enter room,
and wait for the student. (Keep your camera and mic on while waiting)

The forth method (Better not to choose this one, it's
the worst choice, just for emergency):
If you can't log in your Zoom account, please back to the sign in page, and
choose “Join a Meeting”, fill in your personal zoom ID(You need to remeber
your ID first), fill in your name and then join the meeting. (Keep your camera
and mic on while waiting)
**Please notice! In this way, you're not the host of the meeting, and you
can't record the class. So better not to choose this way to have your class.
About Your Personal Meeting ID

Please notice: Always


choose the option”Use My
Personal Meeting ID(PM)”
to keep the same meeting
ID for every meeting.
The thing you need to pay attention
when you share your screen

You need to choose the “share the computer sound” when you share the screen so
that the student can hear your computer sound, such as the warm up song,
otherwise they can not .
The functions that you need to know
When you enter the meeting room, your screen will show like that:
Then you can open your camera, microphone and your class material
before sharing screen.
1. About locking meeting
For avoiding being disturbed by other students who may want to join
the meeting earlier, teacher nee to lock the meeting after the correct
student joined in. By doing that, no new attendees can join the meeting.
① Click Manage Participants

② It will show you More on the right side.


③ Click More, and it will show you three options, please choose the
last one, Lock Meeting.

④ A small window will bump up, please choose Yes.


⑤ If you finished the class, please unlock the meeting by doing as
follow. Also if student disconnection in the middle of the class, please
also unlock meeting so student can join back.
2. About Recording
① Normally it will record automatically when teachers enter the
meeting room, if not, please click the record button to record the class.

② Give students permission to record.


Find“Manage Participants” (usually on the bottom )
* When you're sharing screen, please find the “Mange Participants”
button on the top of your screen (see as follow)

Find your student' s name and click “More”, and choose “Allow Record”
and give your student the right to record the lesson.
3. About Screen Sharing
Click Share Screen, there is a new window bump up, please remember
to click the option of and left the other option
open. Then choose Desktop and start sharing.
4. About Annotate Function
When you start to share screen, you can find on the top tool bar
of your screen. Click it so that you can make notes for students.

After you finish one part of your material, please press and
choose “Clear All Drawing”, so that you can use mouse to control your
material and show the next part.
* Students may draw something when you start sharing, so please
remember to click more and find “Disable Attendee Annotation”. By
doing this, you won' t get any disturbance.
5. About Leaving Classes.
When you finish your lesson, please press the cross on the top right
corner. And press End Meeting when you finished the lesson.
6. About Recording Saving.
After finishing the lesson, the recording will convert to mp4 format.

If you don' t have time to convert, you can close it and double click the
file to continue converting when you are available.
For the recordings, you can find them as follow. They'll all keep in your
computer.
7. About Upload Video.
(1) Please upload class video in your teacher portal “Completed
Classes” after finishing converting within 48 hours after class finished,
so students can review the lessons after class.
(2) After you upload those videos, you can delete them from your
computer to save storage.
(3) If you didn't upload them to the system, teacher needs to keep
those videos on the computer for at least 2 weeks, in case students ask
for those videos.
