Step 1:Gaining Attention in the opening
 In case of solicited, start with the job opening description or a
question-
“Because of my specialized training in accounting……, I believe
that I have the qualification that you described in your journal
advertisement.”
“Will an honors graduate in accounting, with experience…,qualify
for the position you listed on New York Times?”

 In case of unsolicited, show that you know about the company well
and throw a question-
“Now that Asiatic Digital has expanded operations to Chittagong,
can you use a well-trained and highly experienced advertiser who
knows the culture of the region?”
“How would you like to hire a NSU marketing major to fill in…?”
“At the suggestion of Mr. J, I am sending you….”
Step 2:The Body of the letter

 Education/Experience/Skills summary.
 Make your self marketable.
 Highlight on the biggest achievements so far.
 Answer questions if asked on the advertisements.

Step 3: Call to action

 Don’t ask for the Job immediately or directly


 Ask for an opportunity to discuss your potential and career
plan
 Keep a suggestion for negotiation
